The only downside of stances is that it restricts certain skills being available. Other than that, it is by far more superior to having a pet here on RoR. On live the pets were by far better and more responsive. Here... they are utter **** and the main reason I hate playing my SH.

Pet's have a 30s cooldown and 2s cast that can die on you while stances are instant cast, 5 second cooldown, and will remain until you switch. Pros and cons for both, with both really sucking in some situations. ;)
I don't envy the pet management issues but they are nasty when working properly (and improperly through walls).

Only thing I would add to the comment on stances is that they do trigger a global cooldown and are somewhat sluggish to fire with the RoR lag. Global cooldown is not a huge issue but is part of what makes the class "clunky" at times.

I don't think you can fairly say that stances are far superior to the squig pets. As I recall, pet damage does not show in the scenario summary - which may artificially supress the impact of squig herders. You also do get some options with the squig herder that stance locking prevents - i.e. close range AOE bombing spec with gas squig armour bonus (SW is locked into skirmish). I really don't think the two classes are far apart.

That being said, nerfing squig pets (or squig herders at all) is a ridiculous idea, especially come T4.

They do show up on the sc summary, I tested it. I think the main issue people have is when the pets begin to have a mind of their own and start to disobey their masters :P Both parties don't benefit from that. 8-)

Well, this is a very weird t3 with bolster up to 39, which is technicaly where t4 used to be. Can't remember SHs being a problem prior to that, but nowadays the all damage, not only SH, feels quite t4-ish, while wounds are still somewhere in the t3.

I have a question for the developers:
why does the pet of the Squig Herder's so big damage?

And on top of that, the pet passes through the walls of fortresses and kill players who are not healed....
This is nonsense.

WL pet also does all that. So either nerf bot pets, or dont touch them. And if stances are worse than a pet, plz buff mara.

Also in t4 the lion has a pull. I heard is very bad but hey, Have fun destro getting pulled out of the keep walls by spiderlions.

WL pet is melee, it gets noticed and killed faster.
