Playing lots of RBG in WoW tought me that this is a bad idea. It's basically one guy doesn't get to play PvP at all while the rest zergs.

Torquemadra wrote:Capping flags used to take 5 seconds, same as it takes to cap the tombs in the Highpass Cemetery scenario but it was changed to 10 seconds because Mythic introduced a whole load of idiotic renown abilities and notorious among these was "last stand" where you could just run in and cap while invulnerable.

I used to sneak in large warbands and take the cap back from within on my WH, it was something a lone player could contribute to the wider war, it forces the other side to be on their toes as opposed to just snoozing waiting for ticks, when it was 5 seconds I had a chance to get away with it, 10 seconds I could not and taking a point back from a superior force became almost impossible, especially since they fixed last stand so kbs worked on it so people couldnt just recap with impunity but the timer remained because Carrie was in love with fliphammer.

So I suggest changing cap timers back to 5 seconds and strongly urge you to never let Last Stand see the light of day in any form.....
To be honest, ninjas are cheap and totally unrealistic. To take a point you must seize it from the enemy by removing them, not just planting your flag which suddenly wins the battle for you. Yes blobs are lame, but there are plenty of anti-blob tactics you can employ rightly take the point from the enemy. Fights are what this game is about, and avoiding them is effectively removing pvp.

I don't know about this... sometimes a small defending force is able to hold out/interrupt re-capture long enough to lock the flag, that 5 seconds being the difference (either for the lock, or interrupting capture). It's a rare event, sure, but I'd say it happens as often as you could steal the flag with a shorter cap time because nobody's there and paying attention. You get one, and lose the other.

+I thought it over, and now I think this suggestion is a bad idea everything considered. While stealing flag from a larger force when they're not paying attention does have its merit and I would support it, it is still for solo players using one of the 12 classes of their side (as anyone without stealth will most likely be spotted approaching the flag, in fact, even the OP points this out, this option being used with WH).
But as a consequence it will also favor the zerg, because it makes recapturing BOs much easier with just throwing bodies at it: you have less time to interrupt someone capturing the flag, and if it's a smaller group vs zerg, then the zerg will always be all over the flag area, so all you can do is interrupt capture as long as you are still standing. The 10s capture instead of 5s capture makes this easier since multiple people waiting to capture, or knocks/disarms on defenders won't be so difficult to counter. It can also give you a few seconds more after the inevitable wipe happens.

Doesn't give the defending force any reaction time at all. One guy just auto flipping a bo before the enemy can do anything is men.

I for one am sick of chasing pve'rs and back cappers in sc. Generally you join sc for a fight with even numbers no to spend the entire time Benny hilling after some pest that wants to try pveing to victory.

People who say "PvEing" in scenarios really grinds my gears :^)

It's a **** OBJECTIVE based map, if you are too lazy/stupid to leave people to defend a point or watch it you deserve to lose it period, you will get punished for having all 12 people on 1 point. If you want to play zerg v zerg then don't que up for reik/nordenwatch etc...

And it's not like you even get punished for losing an SC, no ladder no mmr, and after you have your emblems there is no reason to try to win becuase killing is going to give you more RR and medals. I don't understand why people complain.

Then it will be a good way for pubs to farm at least some medallions without getting stomped. You can always blacklist maps you don't like in queuequeuer
