saupreusse wrote:hmm yeah i know exactly what you mean. the flickering on the fields was ugly as hell.
I run the game with a 1920x1080 144 HZ monitor and 4times DSR (3840x2160).
I turned off AA and Anisotropic filtering.
DSR Smoothness is set to around 15% and be sure to use fullscreen and to enable it ingame :)
are you sure you didnt forget to enable the super resolution ingame?(yeah that happened to me at first)
(options -> video -> resolution -> 3840x2160 -> tick the use fulscreen box).
The DSR on 4K settings completely removed the flickering effect...

greetings!

maybe this will help you even if my interface is german:

in your nvidia control panel you can make some adjustments to the war.exe such as AA/DSR/AF.
to do this you have to tweak the option where it says:
"Antialiasing - Modus" and put in: "Beliebige Anwendungseinstellungen außer Kraft setzen".
Also make sure to turn of FXAA.
"Antialiasing - Einstellung" and "Antialiasing - Transparenz" must match! (4x in the pic)

You can also use The Nvidia Dynamic Super Resoltuion "DSR" to make your game look amazing!
But first you must turn it on also via the Nvidia Control Panel. (right click desktop>Nvidia Control)
Just tick all the available resolutions and set the smoothing to somth that pleases you. ( I like 15%)
My GTX 970 supports every resolution up to 4K, Maybe your Graphics card isnt new enough to have this feature enabled.
just look in the settings if you can find it.
Also make sure to turn of AA/AF when using high resolutions like 4K!
I play with these settings right now: 2K DSR and 4 times AA just to give me those smooth edges.

After you have enabled all there things in the Nvidia Control Center you are ready to start your game!
In the video settings ingame you should now be able to chose the desired resolution.
your interface may bug out a bit - tweak it in the video settings ingame by using the "UI size Adjustment slider."

I hope this could help you!

Vsync and AF are a bit tricky because of the way the gamebryo engine handles these settings.
when you enable AF some textures may appear flickery - like fields or some ground textures. but you have to try it out yourself! also Vsync should only be enabled if you have massive screen tearing. somehow the game gets stuttery when using vsync. maybe thats just for my graphics card but as i said- you must test yourself.
the best way to get Insane looking AF/AA is using the DSR and turning off AF/AA.
(or use them at very low settings like 2x or 4 x).
i think the main reason why you didnt get the settings working, is because you have to toggle the
"Override any Application setting" in the line where it sais Antialiasing - Mode.
