I loved land of the dead and the PvE instances. Nobody says we have to bring back the broken-ness of it.

It will actually give people a reason to join a guild, too.

It was generally a good chance to kick back with friends and relax a little (Derp squad you are sorely missed) so I for one would be all in favour of seeing it full restored.

I agree with you both! Through that terrible place I got to learn alot of different people in different guilds. I think i had a love / hate situation with TOVL.
At the start it was like you had to have a set premade to do it with so all could get the stuff on their main toon. Also not many groups had finnished it either.
But with time it got into a lol place were we just went to slack off if pvp was bad. And guilds varied ofc in what they liked to do ingame. Some was Sc / PVE, some was pure oRVR /pvp guilds that only went there to get the gear.
And then they were those who went there to laugh and derp. And I believe I went there with your derp squad too Gotrin late in game Fruit was kinda of an addict of TOVL!

ps. those lizards spots besides the tombs were gold for farming armour pot mats

edit: also the alternative design of the gear from all of those instances were cool to have too.

I always loved Lotd. the graphics of the map are sweeter, too. You could feel that it was made years after the original maps.
But some of the items were just awefully strong. ô.Ô

With the Tyrant set was not problem, maybe can enable with some set bonus change

The problem other cheater items if you remember:
Pocket items
Back with 3 "socket"(talisman slots)
Odjira
Weapons with 3 socket and this weapons that was a joke, stronger or nearly same rr80 weapons

Lost Vale was epic. I still have fond memories of getting my DP on my Magus there. Easily the most enjoyable PVE WAR ever had.

TOVL was a game breaking update that broke the rule of PvP gear always being superior to PvE gear

as well with the absolutly broken glitched crit glyphs breaking t3 balance

so i hope when tovl is here the devs not implent the broken pocket items like odojira and absorbs and what not

having said that the lotd choppa and bo cloaks were pure sexyness and i cant wait for them again

Your "rule" is a false premise, the original design of this game was sidegrades, pve and pvp pathways and pvp was never the path to the top untill the sov rework which was the beginning of the end. Dont forget, sentinel and dark promise were highly desirable sets in their day and performed at least as well as their comparative "pvp" sets.

There is significant evidence in the DB of such things (and other awesome stuff that I will not mention at this time :p) so do not think the game was designed around pvping your way to the best sets over pve because that wasnt the case, just that EA turned off the cashflow and Mythic abandoned half the game.

However I seriously doubt we will see the likes of odjira and the pocket items. As for tyrant? Well personally I would like to see the power creep end there with sov balanced to it accordingly but thats just me.

sovereign was changed after tyran--> if something was wrong was tyran and also sov meta was totally fine and fun one of the best warhammer had during all his hystory

@other pve had defensive sets / RVR had offensive set there was not a better set than another one.

i liked gunbadn and tovl over the rest as dungeon but the worst were as always offensive and healing tovl jew, tanks were a hutter garbage in comparison.

And purchasable set jewelery were pretty powerful too. I don't have a problem with Glyphs or Tyrant if they make some tweaks to scale the gear gap back a bit.

You do realise that before there was tovl the best gear for most classes was 4pieces darkpromise +3 pieces warlord?
(And later on the old souvereign).

You got darkpromise from lost vale (pve), warlord and old old souv from city instances (pve, only getting there was pvp.)
So the best gear was more or less always just through pve obtainable.
Best weapons where lv weapons or city instance weapons.

Only with the rr 100 patch you would get best gear from pvp. And you had to put in zero effort besides lots of time to get it.

People want pvp gear to be better and pve gear nerfed because they can't be arsed to put effort into something.
Pvp gear is mostly obtainable by beeing afk, which also goes for the new sc sets.

So all in all it actually makes a lot of sense that pve gear>pvp gear, because more effort=better gear.

I loved LotD. ToVL was amazing from a lore perspective. Gameplay wise though? I dreaded it, like all other PvE dungeons in this game, lol.

I do however really hope the devs will bring back all the items from both LotD and TotVL. HOWEVER, I do NOT want the items to be as powerful as they were on live. They should obviously be looked at, tweaked, nerfed, or whatever is needed to balance them out, to be on level with everything else. I don't think item choices should be obvious. If you have obvious item choices, then you also have obvious imbalances in regards to items.

But I do not think the devs should cut out any content of the game (With the exception of the RR+80 gear, of course. Most didn't like that). Less items/content isn't the answer, if you ask me. Just my 2 cents
