Honestly to make back line WP less "meta" you just need to improve front line healing. When both paths are good its less of a "meta" and more of a what do you prefer. I bet a lot of backline spammer bot WP's and DoK's would love to pick up their manly bits and roll Grace but its a super high skill cap and even then not very effective for some groups. Fix the problem that caused the problem and you might find a solution... Please dont create yet another problem with the tears of QQ.

Nothing will change, when you buff melee healing, because you fail to grasp the core problem or you just want to keep everything the same for heal specced wp/dok.
Dying is no option.

The point is making other specs viable before remove the one (overly) viable they got I believe ;)

It's not only viable, it offers too much for too little effort.
Without sov regen procs both a pretty much spot on and only small tweaks are needed to limit their back line healing efficiency.

You want to be strict to the cannon play table top.
DoK wouldn't also exist. I don't mind there is allowances, and not every WP need be a melee WP. I would preffered that the game had major incentives for playing to how the classes are in the lore. (2h BG/ 2h SM being favoured as both offensive + Def specs, WPs being melee etc.) Having the classes balanced is my main concern, having them emulate their fluff properly takes second place. These two things are not mutually exclusive.

It happens man, keep on trying and you will understand.

In easy words for you, tone down their regen capabilities a little bit and they are fine.
Only the addition of sov set with its regen procs would break the balance but this is far in the future.
Dying is no option.

Thanks for your encouragement.

I'm not sure your second statement was easier in words, but the fact it wasn't fragmented english definitely did make it easier to understand. Appreciate you taking the time to clarify.

This seems to come up in the threads about DoKs and WPs, and I've been wondering about it: just what exactly is wrong with the WP/DoK standing back and spamming their heals like the other two class types tend to?
I don't mean specific abilities/mastery paths (for example potentially overpowered group heals). I mean the concept itself, that some players seem to oppose, insisting in one way or another that WPs/DoKs must fight in melee to be able to heal.
