You should check out Mordheim, its pretty legit.Battleshadow666 wrote:It does suck how for the most part, Warrhammer games suck. Outside of this game, Total War and the 40k Dawn of War games, everything else is just awful. (imo)
How likely do you think official WAR will return?

I would like to to buy the live server. Wut cost would I be looking at honestly? I'm not joking if the price is right and I was able to hire a team wut would the costs be? Even if only allowed you to walk around the city with ur old chars and gear I think ppl would still love to roam around the city with their live chars.

Yeah I've seen that game on Steam, but actually never thought anything of it. Did not even know it was a Warhammer game. So I may have to give it a look when It's on sale at some point.raught19 wrote:You should check out Mordheim, its pretty legit.Battleshadow666 wrote:It does suck how for the most part, Warrhammer games suck. I would guess anywhere from 5mil-20mil for license and rights :SOlszewski wrote:I would like to to buy the live server. Wut cost would I be looking at honestly? I know I would try to buy it if I won the lottery. lol
Re: How likely do you think official WAR will return?
Not a chance. Except for all its problems, it's also very dated, as mentioned above. They'd have to make such a big revamp that it wouldn't worth it.raught19 wrote: Do you think Official Warhammer Online could be seen again?
What is theoretically possible to see, is a brand new Warhammer MMO.

Sounds like crazy talk to me.saupreusse wrote:Why would anyone take the risk of reviving a bugged, failed, unfinished and incredibly outdated multimillion Triple a title.

Well, MJ stated once that WAR cost was just south of $100 millions. So we are not talking chump change here. Then it would probably be a legal mess for sure as the game is owned by EA... but the IP is owned by GW.Olszewski wrote:I would like to to buy the live server. But heh, if you've got a couple millions to spare, it would be nice

Re: How likely do you think official WAR will return?
It is more possible now then it was a few years ago. Especially since Warhammer IP games are doing not only well but very well.
But it will cost several million dollars if not more. EA and GW will hold out for as much money as possible, and even if you were able to do a contract, you will have to deal with GW breathing down your neck over every little change and tweak to the game.
That was one of the main issues for the dev team on live, that the RoR guys don't have to deal with. Although looking at some of the newer games coming out, GW does seem a little bit more relaxed on the IP since they killed fantasy and went for AOS.
So it seems possible, but it wouldn't be easy.
I seem to remember that broadsword, the studio that took over DAOC was offered WAR, but it would have cost them more than all the other mythic games combined.

WAR? Not gonna happen.
A new, different, Warhammer Fantasy MMORPG created by a different studio? Sure, it's possible.
