Hello to all,
Unfortunately, all items that went "missing" from the Auction house from many player's accounts cannot be recovered. This means that any players who experienced their items that were on the Auction house will not receive them and they cannot be recovered.
Brief background:
Just before the server went down for approximately a month, there were stability issues with the server. During this, many player's lost (a lot) of items they put on the Auction house for sale. Until know, we've been looking into trying to recover the lost items but we have come to the conclusion that it's beyond possible.
Conclusion:
The RoR staff will not compensate any players affected by this and they will not replace any items that were "lost".
We apologise for the inconvenience and the unfortunate circumstances this has invoked. These are unfortunate events of Alpha states.

Re: Auction house items that were lost
i getcha but question, what made you guys decide for no compensation, was it just that you couldnt think of something, or too hard to implement, or it could be abused?

Re: Auction house items that were lost
Abuse, and also its an Alpha. These things can and should be expected to happen in alpha.
EDIT:
Also it would take away dev time from other things way more important

Re: Auction house items that were lost
Unforeseen circumstances which sometimes is out of our power.
Our rule has always been "no compensation". There has been certain exclusions in which we've compensated (minor bugs such as bugged influence rewards). However, we have no way of being able to trace back what specific items were lost and who owned them. Even if we did, it would take too long and we can't devote that kind of resources. Such as it is, being Alpha.
I will beat this drum long and hard. This project is Alpha, and while I oversee CSR and GM actions, compensation will be scarce, if at all...

Re: Auction house items that were lost
Now that AH is almost empty , would it be an idea to let normal mobs drop some blue/purple once again ?

I remember on live there was a Merchant that you can remove talismans from items you have but destroying the item is that correct ? and if so can it be implemented ?

This is not the right place to ask that, it has nothing to do with the AH issue.Armagdon wrote:I remember on live there was a Merchant that you can remove talismans from items you have but destroying the item is that correct ? and if so can it be implemented ?
also I have no such memory from live and a quick google did not find anything more than contradicting info to your claim.
I doubt something like it will be implemented even if it is possible as it would devalue the crafting profession and the economy as a whole. But hey I'm no dev
