Yeah, thanks for the hard work. I know sometimes I can be a little salty and frustrated in some threads, and I easily forget that you have nothing to work correctly on the game.
So, I apologize for my reactions earlier.
Thank you all the RoR team, you're doing Sigmar's work here.

These are very good news.

There is an issue i want to ask - it concerns the "we work as hard and as fast as possible but we have family and so on"-part:

Why don't you get more qualified developers into the project?

There are plenty of developers who are powerful in c# coding and analyzing etc. and they want to help (i'm a software developer also and wants to help, but in my application nobody did even answer).

To get a Dev you need a certain amount of time spent on the server and in the Forums. Most likely no one answered you, because you only had 8 Forum posts. :)

I will post my personal opinion because im quite fed up of what happened.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
FRUSTRATION
Spoiler:
Since T4 release (+ the big shutdown), I have the feeling that many people (some players, some RoR team members) experience a lot of frustration/angriness, creating a lot of non-productive situations and locked posts on this forum. The main reasons for all this (as far as I have understood)are: cross-realming, bad focusing from RoR team to fix some parts of the game and modify some others that weren't in the original, the not so incentive ORvR, difficulty to gain rewards and some specific stuff, locks and bans/exiles, order/destro biasing, lack of class balance, DDOS, Massive DCs, RoR team/player relationship, etcetcetc... The list is too long. I'll try, in this DEV DIARY to talk about the most important points and try to explain and elaborate as clearly as possible what I personally think about it all.
----------------------------------------------------
people should remeber that NO FEE IS DEMANDED HERE and thanks to dev team thy can play warhammer online again instead of saying farewell to it. Content is not good in t4? nice! give CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK on apposite section of the forum instead of start flame wars each time somethn is not right. will help a lot more than starting the war.

.THE ROR TEAM
Spoiler:
We are small 20-30, including everyone, team more or less involved in the project. All of us have a job, studies, families to care about, and are not paid for working on this project. Most of us are just passionate and haven't any knowledge, some have very specific abilites, some can give an hour per week, and some 10 or more. We are doing this because just like you, we love this game. We are trying our best - sometimes Awkwardly- to make it live. I know I always ask you to be patient and I know that long to wait and wait and wait.
Now, I hope you have a better understanding of all the project mechanics and why sometimes it seems to be long/weird/frustrating.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear developers, and I am talking to ya in open hearth: why if you lack people not opening some more position as developers? I believe there are plenty good fellas out there that would gladly help you out in some way (database , forum, in game managing etc).

.RVR
Spoiler:
Well. ORvR, the most important piece of cake of War. Right now, we all (ROR TEAM included) admit that actual situation is boring, without interest, that there is a big lack of reward and is not funny. We can't fully hide behind crossrealming to justify this. crossrealing is a part/consequence of this of course, but many things have to be done to enhance the RvR experience. And they will be. Maybe you already have experienced some changes when this news pop. Fact is ORvR is your biggest expectation and most of us in RoR team are worried about your reactions, so rather than make changes quickly, we have slowed this part of the game, focusing where we were able to bring really functional and several solutions. A big part of RvR mechanic are actually unknown and doesn't help to fix it like "it should be".

After long internal discussions, we finally decided to move on and take the risk to make it worst than it is :). Please note that each and every changes are for testing in the first place, so please, don't whine about, test it, deeply, give us feedbacks (calmy, objectively, without animosity), and we will considerate them all. Just give a chance to any change. We will bring mods and fix as frequently as we can. All this work will concern in a first time the T4 area. T2 and T3 won't be impacted for this long period of tests. Obviously they can't be used for testing due to lack of population and faction total unbalance. So we will focus on T1-T3 later.

More détails will come very soon about new RvR system and functionalities.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

People here make me laugh: content needs time and devs are not all from same time zone it mean work is not synchronized. Blaming them for NOUBERRELEASEOMGOMGOMG!!!oneoneone!!!111 is stupid. Be patient and wait scripting.

.CROSS REALMING
Spoiler:
We know... it's one of the biggest issues and it's partially killing the fun to fight for a zone. Sadly, due to the lack of technical abilities we deal with atm, there is nothing we can do about it YET. Our hands are tied, for now. Too many constraints are present to bring a severe solution to this.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I admit im the first who hates xrealmers: warhammer should make you "feel" your faction as the right one, not a place where "you win most scenarios" only. I guess they are making something to this issue but, as i said, mostly this problem is community made (how can a gm forbid you to roll another char???). The solution i proposed was 1 account per IP, i guess they rejected my idea but still looking forward to fix such issue.

Im sorry for text wall but i feel was needed to give my idea. Dont destroy ror community for personal frustration.

It is all about trust and communication Zaru.

We are recruiting sometime, ( look about us section), and there is some turn over in the team. If you haven't any answer, well we probably forgot of miss it, just send a PM to a concerned team member

Now, let imagine we give access to anyone to work with us and help. There is a risk to see these sources fly away, be destroyed or damaged. If destroyed, well we have backups.

If these sources fly away, tomorrow, there will be 2 5 10 20 WarEmu servers. Which would be wonderfull... ...in the begining, but it would split the community and make the game unplayable and then, and this would kill the purpose of the project.

Actually with 20 ppl in the team, it is already extremely hard to have focused discussion ( explained in diary). So if there are 40 60 or 100 ppls this would be even harder.

Understand there are no real project leading. There are departments ( Database team, Dev team, GM team, Bugtracker, Web, Management aka King of Nothing, aka Me), and we try to make links between all this part to move on. We all do what we can, where we can, when we can. None says " You, you and you will work on PQs this week and have the objective to fix this this and this".

If we had a total knowledge and mastery of this piece of cake, maybe things would be different.

Trust issues would be one of the reasons and imo, one of the best grounded.
Let's say the project gets more devs, some of them decide to take all the work that's been done (not implying you or anyone else would but it is after all a high possibility, you never know what someone's gonna do), open a new private server and start taking donations... yes you can expect that from people. As soon as that would happen, ALL servers would be shut down and not only. The consequences and loss would be immense. All the work down the drain.
As Yali said, we understand the frustration, we all go thru it.

The trust issues only increase as the project progresses. All it takes is one mistake. We know there are factions out there who would dearly love to get hold of this source code and at best, fragment the community - at worst, ruin us all by taking dangerous liberties.

Ok so i just hit a wound here - that was not intended ;)

I've written now to saupreusse and yaliskah and i think it is viable to leave a statement here.

I appreciate your concerns about trust and communication.
I understand the problem with code stealers and the fact that this can ruin more than just this project. It could ruin all the warhammer online experience and would eventually take criminal penalites in consideration.

Furthermore i understand that you want a measured value such as forum posts and so on.
But i dont think that the fact that more forum posts do confirm trust.

If you do then all ive got to do now is be more active on the forum and repost my application :)

Thank you for your reasonable answers. Sometimes it is hard to read your thoughts in some issues ;)

Just gonna say, I love you all, honestly..

I have always been extremely grateful of the work you all are able to put in and have few complaints to even come close to mentioning.

Personally, I would happily offer any assistance that I can, but until that day comes I will continue playing the game and reporting whatever weird things pop up.

Unfortunately I have not been able to have very much fun in current T4 and have spent the majority of my timev (since servers have been back online) playing in T1 or helping old friends get into the game for the 2nd time (since Live).

This is pretty much the only game I am playing and I play it every single night without fail =) Call upon me and I will gladly help further than I do now, in any capacity that I can.
