Why isn't oil a resource ?

In my opinion and most of the games I have played where oil is a factor (Civilization-series :D ) , oil is also a resource and if your resources are depleted, which they are at keep rank 0 (yellow progress line 0) , it should be impossible to have that, unless you make an effort of actually taking BO's and maintaining a steady transport of resources to your keep.

I suggest the following:

Under the keep rank star is the yellow progress line - when a keep hits rank 0 the yellow line will determine how many oils you have left to use (if its almost full = 3-4 oils ) and once that yellow line is gone, no more oil until you get resources, this will also give an option to defenders, either work for full rank 1 and repair doors or use oils, because regardless on what people say, oil dropped at the right moment can have a profound change on the siege at hand, I've seen the damn oil wipe almost entire wb's.

Hm, I dont know about the impact oil has on the fight.... I never found it that strong, if you have at least average Tanks and healers, but i may that be as it is, i still like that idea. It gives some reality to the game.... something I always like.

I feel the problem with oil doesn't lie in its near-constant availability during sieges, because lets be honest, there needs to be pressure on the ram or sieging will be too easy. Instead, the problem with oil lies in that it is still available after the door goes down. So instead of a strategic chokepoint it becomes a huge nuisance that only delays everyone despite the door being down.

Everyone had situations where they died trying to enter the keep because oil was up on the outer wall, despite the lord currently being under attack. I feel this serves no improvement to sieging and is just a huge annoyance.

Well you are right, thats an additional point, which should be changed, but I still think there shouldnt be oil on a rank 0 keep. People should look after their resources, thats just realistic

No, I would never, I do not play Dwarf and I believe that they are the only race that if possible would bring battleships, aircraft and tanks, to the RvR lake.

Humans have Steamtanks aswell and both their ancestors, the Skaven  , uses similar devices I believe (on land and water) ;)

However none of the machines they use afaik, runs on oil, meaning probably that oilwells must be scarce as hell.
