[Suggestion] Zone Lock - rate at which the zone locks

This is not a request/demand or a complaint, please feel free to slap this idea down immediately, i'm not precious about it.


Many people are of the mind that T4 zone locks in their current form take way too long and while it can mean very enjoyable lake-wide battle chaos in those now rare times when there are at least 2 wbs active on each side it usually means doing nothing but guarding the bo's and waiting for the zone lock.

What if there was a way to keep things as they are (long chaotic warring over bo's = very good) but also make it so that when one side easily outnumbers the other or when a greater organised effort is made we could force a quicker zone lock?

Suggestion: Connect the rate at which the zone locks (or fails to lock) to the amount of battle objectives held at any one time.

0 bo's held by keep takers - lose lock fast - (keep losers regain keep control at % of zone control fast)

1 bo's held by keep takers - lose lock slow - (keep losers regain keep control at % of zone control slow)

2 bo's held by keep takers - stalled lock - (no change in % of zone control or move to a middling % of zone control)

3 bo's held by keep takers - win lock slow - (like the current zone locks)

4 bo's held by keep takers - win lock fast - (datz da fasta zone locks!!!)

After the keep take the action would be very rabid and very good, the changes in control of bo's would be of vital importance then.

Why not just make the zone lock after keep take? Atm after keep is gone winning side just moves in giant deathball from BO to BO. Losing side tries to avoid zerg ninjacapping BOs to maximize contribution, boring gameplay.

But i guess new system is being worked on, we'll see how it pans out.

yep im up to zone lock after keep take... after keep is boring **** time waiting for lock

Maybe have a keep capture cause your Victory Point pool surge upwards by 20, which would mean under ideal conditions of holding 4 BOs, and having maximum of 80 when you are holding own keep + 4 BOs for long enough, an instant lock.
Less ideal conditions, it would still reduce the "random zerging and warcamp camping" by 20-40 mins.
Doesn't diminish the defenders ability to turn the tide, but makes the possibility of fast lock possible when you are clearly having superior numbers and the enemy might have given up already.

Suggest less and get more, gotta strip it down folks.

I say change nothing (much) and just add fast zone locks for maximum effort.

Incentive, yes? people don't generally like the current zone locks.


edit: My suggestion would also make it easier for the keep losers to get their keeps back! :lol:

edit: Hmm... flag > resources > siege gear, isn't there a flag at the wc as well as at the keep? ;)
