I agree with this, but id be in the camp to move away from the stupid burst or bust meta we are in and "fix" magus/engineer by changing the meta we have due to a huge imbalance of defensive and healing power comparative to dmg. It just makes for dull gameplay that rarely punishes mistakes.peterthepan3 wrote:The issue isn't the damage; its the fact that the damage can't be put out on a consistent & fast-paced basis, compared to other DPS classes (remember: the Magus is a DPS!). When I say 'damage', I mean actual damage that can kill people and not spamming your aoe dots which tick for 30 dmg and showing a sc screenshot with 600k dmg 1 kb.
What tank dies to a Magus rotation? Hint: not a proper tank. If you're allowed to die to an easily anticipated Magus rotation, you need to find a better group/healers.
Torq obviously wants to open up gameplay on classes and if hope the meta we have 6 months to a year from now is better or at least different. So far the only major changes that impacted the meta was am/sham rework, and the gear level difference from live making certain things more or less viable. RDPS takeover as well but I'm not 100% sure as to why but I can think of gear and removing minimum range of casted abilities.
