Exactly what onesword said ^
Very rarely will you win from solely holding Fort. If the opposing team holds LH/Barracks, then they hold their respective opposition's spawn. Get a few kills on fort/kite, kill the people trying to get to fort, and you stand a chance of winning.
Nordenwatch: Fort>2 Points, why?

I've seen the opposite.. where once you establish a hold on fort, the scenario is pretty much over, unless you're able to pull the enemy out of fort and claim a hold on it yourself. Bottom line: everything operates around holding fort.

Re: Nordenwatch: Fort>2 Points, why?
There are plenty of SCs that could do with tweaking or rebalancing. Nordenwatch is pretty well designed, and on a great map for all styles of combat.
If you want to win, you HAVE to wipe or push the enemy off Fort. If you want to win fast and deny enemy RP and medals, cap the other flags as well.
I happen to love Nordenwatch....

Re: Nordenwatch: Fort>2 Points, why?
That's true.. but *normally* the scenario ends as soon as you wipe the enemy off fort. After that, most of the time it's up to the losing team to make a move (opposite of rvr where the winning team is normally making moves, I'd argue). It reminds me of Doomfist where once you lose the flag it's really damn hard to get it back. I love norden too I just agree it can be tweaked.

Re: Nordenwatch: Fort>2 Points, why?
You could spawn an AoE cannon if you control the outer points, to simulate a Siege.... that'd help push the enemy off...
Sarcasm btw. If you can't beat the enemy, and can't get them to budge, then you get the 2 outer flags and some RP for your loss. You don't deserve the win if you could t beat your enemy. But you do t deserve a 500-0 loss if they won't push.
We have a few PvE heavy SCs as it is... Peter illustrated this numerous times.

That's fine. We'll just continue to have some boring Norden scs then.

It takes 24 to have a fun SC(12 in 6v6) Most of the time, the problem is the competitors not the mechanics.

Yeah this is not fun for anyone. I liked the old Nordenwatch atleast you got a chance to break up people camping Fort aka much more fun to play.gebajger wrote:And sitting at the fort/spawn for 10-15 minutes is not?peterthepan3 wrote:The only gripe I have is that if you don't have a second group that can assist/help (a lot of the time, basically), you would render the map to nothing more than a cardio run-around CTF with people avoiding fights, hence why I mentioned Reikland Factory as the de facto map for the aforementioned.
I dunno about you, but spending 10-15 minutes running around capturing flags is pretty piss boring.
Re: Nordenwatch: Fort>2 Points, why?
Don't que as a pug, get 5 players together, jump in coms, don't play a dumpster set up. There are bar a very few l33t grps left to challenge in scenarios.
Use tactics, cap the other 2, wait for a dummy or 2 to leave and try re-cap. Exploit this, kill them, attack with numerical advantage, attack from both sides to exploit the back line work as two groups not a one sided blob.
