Sending out an email blast to former players saying hey we've improved a lot of stuff, and having them return only to find you deleted their characters (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16641) while they were waiting for all that stuff to be improved probly isn't the best way to get them to come back.
Probly should send an email blast next time you want to clean up inactive characters so the people who want to preserve them actually know it's happening and have a chance to do so.
I've made new ones, I'll try to level again, but I honestly doubt I'll have the patience for it.

Re: Regarding that "hey remember us?" email.
Patience young padawan!
Nah that was a joke. I also would be abit annoyed. I dont know anything about the system,if a bunch of inactive chars/accounts affect the game. But i do know one thing and that is the fact this game is great. Its totally worth to lvl up new toons and i really hope you find the patience to do so. GMs have done a great job and they work hard with making it even better. Good communication GMs-players.

You can pvp since lvl 1, so what patience you mean? You don't have to wait until rank 40.Divenity wrote:Sending out an email blast to former players saying hey we've improved a lot of stuff, and having them return only to find you deleted their characters (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16641) while they were waiting for all that stuff to be improved probly isn't the best way to get them to come back.

Dying is no option.

Yeah I was really disheartened initially to find my characters wiped. At the same time though, there's so much that's been added and the journey itself can be fairly enjoyable so I figure why the heck not. I do agree though that if another wipe comes up there should be a tiny bit more warning.

The wipe was 18? months ago and wiped characters that hadn't been logged in since before T4 was released. It was a necessary and understandable action which anyone affected by it will have to stomach it and start over.

Re: Regarding that "hey remember us?" email.
If I'm correct there was a three week warning in the forums. And characters were deleted that were inactive for six months.
And what was the lvl cap the moment you stopped playing? Lvl 16 or lvl 27?
It is not that hard to lvl your characters back to that lvls.
But overall yes, no more whipes are currently planned or ever and if there are there would be a mail warning before that.

which someone who is inactive likely won't be reading much, if at all. Someone who is inactive and waiting for "improvements" will likely just check the front page for patch notes.Glorian wrote:If I'm correct there was a three week warning in the forums.

Hard? No one ever said it was hard, it is boring and time consuming though. It is not that hard to lvl your characters back to that lvls.
I'd hardly call freeing up names necessary... But sure, free up names, just give a warning in a way people not reading the forums will be able to see.NoRKaLKiLLa wrote:It was a necessary and understandable action

It's done, it happened, we get it you're upset, the characters are gone and complaining about it won't bring them back. The good news is that warhammer is still going strong and you can still log in and play every day. Cheer up.
