Forums & Guilds Ease of Use Suggestion

The Issues:

1. The clear delineation between the activity and population levels of the EU Prime and NA Prime are well known. NA Prime has historically struggled to gain playerbase and organize Guild-level Warband ORVR. There are mainly NA Prime smallman ORvR/6-man SC groups and a smattering of Pugs worthy of 1 maybe 2 PuG warbands in ORvR if the flip-floppers (Read as small man groups that play both sides as they deem fit) are predominantly on one side or the other. In short, NA Prime and NA late night continues to suffer from low pop and wild swings in pop balance nightly.

2. There are many posts on the forum, especially in the [Introduce Yourself] section wherein players from live are looking for other players from live they know/knew. There are also several posts in the Community section for both Destruction and Order Guilds that try to give the reader a sense of their playtimes (i.e. NA Prime, EU, Oceanic, etc.) in the titles and as often in the text. This is in hopes of reaching the player base most active during their guild playtimes (mine included). I have also seen players post LFGuild posts and the first reply is always, What times do you play?

Assertion:

In order for NA Prime to grow and flourish, we need to be actively engaging with the NEW players to recruit them into active guilds, reacquaint them to long lost friends and worthy adversaries from live, as well as organize a competitive effort is ORvR and SCs. After all, this is a group-based game and new players often quit or give up because they are Pugging it or have no help in-game. The active players and guilds during their respective playtimes may not reach these players as easily as they would like.

Proposed Change:

If we could dissect the Guild forums into sub forums, using the main timezone play times for each guild as a filter, new players more easily be able to find guilds and players who are active at the same as they are. For example, the RoR team could create subsections within the Order and Destruction sections by EU Prime, Na Prime, Oceanic Prime etc. and simply let the player who posted their Guild Advert "move" their advert into the correct subcategory. Any guild post that has not been moved from the main Order/Destruction area after 2 Weeks™, would be deleted. This would clean up the Guild forums of the "dead wood" and help new players key in on the active guilds for their normal play times.

This should be a fairly simple thing to set up, and if each guild was responsible to monitor and move their post as they deem fit, the Forums GMs would need only facilitate the creation of the subcategories for each faction.

Thank you, in advance, for your time and consideration of my proposal.

I agree that would be beneficial, but I think another option could be to have some stickied threads at the top of Order/Destruction pages, one for each time zone, containing the active guilds and alliances in that time zone

Or you could add a prefix of [NA] or [EU] to your posts

We do. That's how it is now; however, a new player, weeding through the morass of posts dating back to 2014, may not find or see what they are looking for.

Well, looking in a guild thread where no one posted in a month is most likely a sign of inactivity. And last post in 2014 is a sure sign for it. ;)

I understand you desire for a more effective way of showing active and time zone selected guilds. But guild threads are an oldschool newspaper style advertisement. It is there to stand an build interest. And that it does pretty well.
