Hello,
The new OnSlaught set will come sooner or later. It would have 5 pieces and max. 5 Pieces set bonus (all over all 4 boni).
The problem with this kind of sets is that you nearly are not able to combinate them with other sets. When you for example remove 2 parts to add other set pieces you loose 2 set boni and get only 1 new from the other set.
We have already a set that has parts you can use without destroy another full set and give you access to a setboni. The beastlord Set with back, accessories & pocket Item.
My idea is to add a belt and 2 or 3 more parts (for example back, belt & accessories or pocket item)to the OnSlaught Set. The max. Set Bonus starts with 3 pieces like beastlord and the last set boni will be with 6 parts so you have still only 4 set boni but with more parts you have more options to combinate your gear. It brings all over all more variance in the game without any big looses because we have already a set that give players this option so you will only have 2 options in future.
regards

Re: Suggestion OnSlaugth Set
We could use more back/belt/acc sets, but sets like Onslaught and others with procs are intended to be desirable for wearing the full set, not the 2-3pc bonuses for mix/match. If anything I feel the large stat boosts for 2-3pc set bonuses are high, and may change in the future to represent investment made into the sets.

Mix/match has it's benefits for developing playstyle options but I do agree that there should be a scale in set bonuses that rewards having more pieces.wargrimnir wrote:We could use more back/belt/acc sets, but sets like Onslaught and others with procs are intended to be desirable for wearing the full set, not the 2-3pc bonuses for mix/match. Indeed there should be some bonus for choosing to go all in on a set and while you can choose to mix and match it should be a hard choice between do i go all in or try and mix n match. Risk vs Reward

Nah, such min-maxing may make the classes harder to individually balance or cause certain sets (like Beastlord) to be BiS for everyone just because of a certain powerful bonus they give on the first set piece bonus without interfering with the boni of other sets.
Let's just stick to the meh low set boni and "defining" full set bonus paradigm.

No one uses beast lord full set really..... everyone usually stops at 3-4 piece bonus You need a strong bonus justify going 5-6 piece set, if i were a WE/WH i would defiantly go full onslaught for boost proc vs on my mara i wont bother going up my 2 piece str bonus combos for a statistically weaker set just for some 10% wounds buff.
Lastly gear should never be a deciding factor in class balance, the effectiveness of a class should not be decided by some set or weapon
if it does that is indicative of a poor game balance/design

That's a good point. Gear should synergy with the base class with bonuses to favour a certain way to play the class rather thsn a bslancing toolTenTonHammer wrote:No one uses beast lord full set really..... everyone usually stops at 3-4 piece bonus You need a strong bonus justify going 5-6 piece set, if i were a WE/WH i would defiantly go full onslaught for boost proc vs on my mara i wont bother going up my 2 piece str bonus combos for a statistically weaker set just for some 10% wounds buff.

That's how Warhammer (and any MMORPG) class balance works. Usually balance tests are done with the BiS gear in mind and ofc it causes variations from player to player, but that's the only way to have a chance at balancing classes in a MMORPG with gear being an important factor. The gear difference here is smaller than it was on Live, and that's probably all you can do about it. Unless you take the WoW stat template approach and kill off all character customization.

Class balance should focus on the class themselves and their abilities
Back in the past before classes changes to BG and morale pump nerfs, it was considered abysmal for grp play now say that there was some keep bag reward shield that gives you morale pump on block just like Chosen/BO tactic so in class discussions people will say "no bg is just as good and viable as BO as long as you have X item" which would in turn results in glossing over the actual issue
It was the say a while back when some started to spread the narrative that choppa is "the strongest destro mdps once you get the crit proc 2h" when the t4 epic weapons came out or the same once Subju 2h came out and choppa could heal debuff in AoE with lotsa choppin....but thats not the reality
So its fine to assume BiS but the focus and discussion should still remain on the class and abilities themselves and not what if's from gear

Re: Suggestion OnSlaugth Set
Let's face it, when it comes down to gear (and the stats/toggles it provides) everyone is essentially going to go for BiS gear for his build, which essentially breaks down all the items in the game into the "Not BiS", "Gimmicky" and "BiS" categories eventually. The gear that is not BiS is thrown in the trash can, the gear that is BiS is worn and the Gimmicky gear is stored in the bank and taken out every blue moon to be used in some sort of crackpot build that is 99% of the time proven to be less effective than the cookiecutter BiS (and thus useless) and the items ends up returning back to the bank to gather dust.Nefarian78 wrote:TenTonHammer wrote:Unless you take the WoW stat template approach and kill off all character customization.
Streamlining gear is just pre-cutting this knot for the benefits of the players really. (Althought let's face it, when it's cut they are going to whine about it even when they were going to cut it by themselves because that's just human nature)
