Sadly with recent dok changes this might happen. Probably give them stealth too. Popular class.

Dps dok in a solo situation needs his lifetaps to actually connect, to survive for more than a few seconds, so here are the ways to completely disable one:

Silence- need to get into melee range to actually apply it, while am got an aoe punt which can be applied from a longer range, and which comes with a build in snare. Then if the dok survives to that point, m1 absorb is up, and even if the dok got into melee range he can't heal.

As for 15 point charge, it lasts for a 5 sec, and only protects vs snares. Unless for some reason you start in melee range, kite the dok without wasting spot snare while building dots, then as soon as dok uses charge and gets into close range use aoe punt- between time getting to you and time to get out of punt, charge ends here, so spot snare and kill.

At the state atime, am who knows how to use his tools shouldn't die to dps dok in 1v1, unless surprise situation, lucky disrupt, or such.

Then there is the question of why class functioning solo should be based on getting a 15 points ability in a team tree, which isn't even available to all dps specs (not all dps doks dual wield, after all).
Thankfully the game (as well as balance discussions) doesn't revolve around solo play, eh? Some classes dominate others in 1v1 - assuming equal skill/gear; that's just a fact, I'm afraid. If you're asking for snare swords purely to facilitate to solo engagements with a DPS AM, then I don't think it's going to amount to much.

DPS DOK within a group environment is entirely viable and (arguably) meta in some comps, ergo I see no reason why they would need a sword with snare when they: a) have access to a melee snare; b) have access to a ranged snare via Fist/CoC; c) can rely on a group to make up for where they lack.

@Telen: that comment sort of belittles the work/reasoning behind the change, but wa'evs!

It is understood that the game doesn't revolve around solo play, however in this case the request- correct me if I'm wrong- shouldn't affect team play, and shouldn't require much of the devs time to implement. And while it is expected that some classes have advantage vs others, shouldn't total domination assuming equal skill/gear be worth balancing, assuming it doesn't affects team play? Especially that in this case it is not a request for a new feature- it was something which existed on live.

Maybe make it similar to WE dagger with similar proc- epic quest and main hand only, to give doks a choice- either use a high dmg main hand, or a lower dmg main hand with a snare proc?

My comment wasn't so much that the snare swords shouldn't be included if they were on live; rather, we shouldn't add snare swords to facilitate to solo play. Sure, it may not have much of a bearing on team play...but if we were to implement it, what's to stop people conjuring up other ideas/proposals that facilitate to solo play? 'But you did X for solo play, why not Y?'

If the swords existed on live, there's a chance they'd be implemented (in some form, maybe altered somewhat) here. However, implementing something just so a class has a better chance against another class in an environment that balance doesn't revolve around...eeeeh.
