Re: Reintroductions and reflections.

Let me just try to see if the freedom of speech you are preaching is true or just a wall of dust...

I loved RoR at first, but when you left and the leadership got taken by one person in particular, the actions being taken were terrible (and I dont talk about balance, just about attitude and manner), beyond anything I can accept and I felt strongly disgusted about this project...
A lot of great players got banned for **** reasons as you said, I am afraid that today is too late to fix anything unfortunately, because a good part of those great players are gone for good now, and it's a shame because it was such a huge fun to play on this serv.

The feeling I get when I read you is particular, in a way I feel you understood and blame the shitstorm that happent, in another way I feel you forget to say a lot of things aswel and nothing good can happen until one particular thing occurs, an obvious thing, but it won't happen because what you say are just words : the house has to be cleaned.

All this time staff tried to clean the house banning some players, in a terrible way sometimes, maybe the direction was wrong and maybe it could be corrected today by cleaning the right area...

Noergl wrote: Sat Jul 28, 2018 8:57 pmDuring your absence, the staff worked hard and reached some impressive achievements. Yes, not everyone liked changes, and some people and their attitude (and no, i will not call names) ingame and in the forums towards the devs was horrible and not acceptable. Enforcing rules and using bans as a final step in dealing with cheating and insults is never easy, but (again in my own opinion) most of these bans were justified. Talking with lots of other players i know most of them didnt shed a tear and were happy that the devs took a civilised playing environement sincere. And i really really hope that it is not your intention to give all those banned a general amnesty to come back, that would neither be good for the comunity, nor for the credibility of your co-staff.
It is not my intention at all to propose general amnesty, and I explicitly mention this at the bottom of my post. Some of the players who have been banned were banned legitimately. However, there are lines to be drawn, and for me those lines are the following:

- Are we banning this person even if their problematic behaviour could be dealt with by a lesser sanction?
- Are we banning this person for conduct that did not take place on our server, and thus for which we are not responsible?
- Are we banning this person for conduct which was done as a response to staff misconduct towards them?

Any bans which match these should be adjusted.
Noergl wrote:I admit, reading your post i got the impression you disagree with the way your successors handled things. Opinions are not always the same, thats a given, but the picture some people would like to paint of the downfall of the server and its rapid spiralling descend into the abyss - and that mostly because of some evil egomaniac staff members with personal grudges and agendas – is simply put „bs“. Please dont give in to treacherous whispers calling one person or another the root of all evil.
Thats ego, personal pride, narcissism or tzeentch talking.

I would like, instead of reading lots of (unnecessary) apologies, to find some more clear words about the TEAM effort of the staff and how you have their backs and support their decisions in the last months.
It is important not to be too self-assured and to constantly doubt one's own position. My decision to come back to RoR comes at quite a personal cost to myself, and I do so because I believe there is some substance to that which I have heard and seen. I defended the team in my opening post, and must emphasise that it only takes a handful of persistent issues to ruin a project that is 98% or 99% "good". People see and focus on the bad far more than the good; if RoR had not existed, I'm sure people would be posting that they would happily tolerate problems for the sake of being able to play WAR again. That is the unfairness of human nature, but it is something which we must accept and deal with, knowing for ourselves the work we have done and its value.

Sorry, if my words seem ill chosen, english isnt my native language.

And again, welcome back.
Thanks. And I see nothing in your post that comes across as ill-judged.

I know exactly to what you refer, but as I responded earlier on in the topic, there are limits to what I can do. The influence I have on RoR is a type of soft power, borne of contributions and respect. I do not have the ability to do that which you wish. But to do nothing simply because I cannot do what some feel is needed... is that any better?

What is it that you feel I forgot to say?

Welcome back Azarael. I admire your ability to admit mistakes. I think that is very big of you. However, I have not forgotten your previous attitude towards the community. The quick escape argument and "state stabilization" thread comes to mind.

I can understand the staff's responses at times. Because there can be a lot of shitposting. Especially, people that just criticize with shitposting rather than actually engaging in an argument.

My impression has been that because of a few bad apples, the whole community has at times been treated as bad apples.
Which is the sad part. Because there are a lot of people who are very passionate about WAR, and just want to help.

Two questions.

What direction will balance take?

What is the plan in regards to gear? (State stabilization or what it was called thread etc)

I wouldnt worry. 90% of players dont know or care about any of the drama. Me included.
As for all those that left for the other server. A server where you can say anything and no one can take offence. What universe is that? because it not in this one.

Welcome back Aza I started playing when you were under command and it seems you have a very open mind, and good intentions. I love RoR very much so when people get banned and they have 0 chance to get back on the server I feel for them, even if they deserve it. RoR isn’t perfect and mmos are very hard to make everyone happy but the teams constant resolve is appreciated and yourself and your teams ability to keep making changes and admitting mistakes that just make me smile is admirable. Nothing but support and love for the team and project from me, as you guys are living a dream of mine haha.

Even if some people don’t see it you guys work very hard to provide a thankless blessing on us and the people that do see really appreciate it. So once again I say welcome back and for whatever it’s worth I still managed to have great fun in RoR while you were gone simply because it’s a one of a kind and it’s a gift the RoR team has brought to us and I look forward to what more it has to offer :) keep doing your best and the player base will always be thankful and upset. haha it’s the internet can you blame us?

Nice to have you back...
I think when I first joined it was a bit just before you left. (kind of saw how things went from there).
But let's forget the past and look at the future...

What do you think about a DW Chaos Chosen?
It's a legit question here, not a troll or anything. I was extremely curious if I am to ever see such a crude rehash of an awesome class. That 2h just feels like a waste to me, when WHFB actually supports DW. Ok, only chaos warriors have those, but that's because GW got ass cheap with Chaos Chosen models. In lore Warriors and Chosen wield multitude of weapons, and don't use throwing weapons, so it's something that should be certainly looked at!
