The exploiters have now already invested all their gold in jewelries, weapons and gear. Some will try to store gold in mails during this wipe I could imagine. If you decide to wipe all gold + the backpack content, they will save their expensive gear and jewelries by equipping alts. This will most likely only punish the honest players.

The only way to do this in a fair way would be to wipe all gold, backpack/vault content and equipped gear.

I think many would find it refreshing to start over.

First, fix loot system/drops.
Fix currency drops (e.g. recruit medallions).
Reset all items and player ranks. Leveling is fast enough and easier to get gear with proper loot drops.
Something has to be done about the event cloaks. Binding them to an account would solve the whole issue but "bound to account" doesn't existed on live server.

A simple gold cap won't be a solution. No change for people who put effort into farming e.g. 100 gold. People who exploited their money from 0 to X gain 100g for no effort at all.

The communication were horrible. Usually before open beta is the last char wipe in some MMO-s. Its kinda common. We should have a wipe before every tier change. The game is now ruined. Okay, its an alpha. Now we cant level by quests, cant trade, etc... If T2 arrives, make a full reset, but before that, make sure that the base mechanics work. Make unique quests for T1 best gear. Kill X amount of opposite faction players. Separate the spawns to the 3 main zones.

There should be more communication about the game. This is how the dev team can hold the interest in players. Just think about a newcomer. Sucking at lvl1 in Scenarios are NOT fun.

Make a plan. Set up an order about the todo-s. Try to push micro patches, between the greater ones. Try to act like a developer team.

No offense. I want to play here for years, but the current state of the whole project confuses me. I want to play, but I dont want to waste my time. If I know that there WILL be wipes, i dont care about losing anything, even my char. I accept the wipe, but tell the peoples that there should be more wipes if a game or economy or pvp breaking bug appears.

And, actually, mmorpgs are about grind (and many other games). In case of WAR - pvp grind.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I would accept any challenge about the best looking toons.

But there is a difference between putting huge efforts into a broken system, when you could wait until it is fixed to get the same rewards in much less time.
Why exploit rvr currency or grind for hours to buy decimator set with recruit meds (all sets for gold are just bought with exploited currency), when you could wait to buy it without any effort (just by doing rvr/sc) like it was on live?
Why farm lvl 11/12 gear for hours, when it wasn't part of the normal progression on live?
When you want to farm like mad, wait for a stable and "fully" working game. If not, expect to lose your hard farmed stuff.

Well haven't read all posts, and i'm not a dev ( so don't ask technical questions :p) .

Many of you seems to be angry about choices/gold wipes, or dunno, char / stuff wipes...

Like all of you i'm a player. Played some hours on RoR, sometimes, testing thinks, discussing with dev team.

First point some of you say :

You right. I'm not sure there is any tool to point with 0 doubt who cheat and who don't. A thing is sure. Do nothing will punish only non cheaters. Don't you think?

I don't want to hide myself behind " Oh guys, you know that it is an early alpha server, blablabla". But the thing is that it is writen in red on the top of this page, and every MMO player knows what happens on Alpha phases currently. The same MMO Players knows what happen because of cheaters...

I can understand the disapointment from many of you. Like i said, i'm a player too, and i play sometimes, without any hope for my characters for the moment. You should do the same.

Second point:

Some of you say : "Blabla, not happy, losing my time to grind my gear, blabla"

You right. We apologize for that. In an other hand, how many time does the dev team to make your experience better, and drops... ...nothing ?

RoR will become better and better, it will take time (and Cheaters, boters, are slowing us more than you can imagine. If they reported bugs instread of abusing... they would be the best testers ), and you are all a part of it. Give us time, let us make mistakes and recover them.

We are sorry about inconvenients, but it works like that. I'm sure that you didn't expect to play on a "perfect at the first shot" server. All of us - the staff included- would prefer this scenario .). Sadly it isn't like that. Keep in mind devs are spending a lot of free time to code, try, search solutions, for your pleasure. This time they spend isn't necessary pleasant for them, they would just have to put the right thing at the right place directly.

We are talking about Tier 1 stuff. Like all of you, i wish to see Ostland (^^) soon. So what. Is the T1 stuff so important? What will happen if tomorrow ( don't dream to much ), T2 is implemented? In a week you will be all lvl 20 with totally new stuff. Is that T1 thing so much important ?? And when T4 will open ( i'm pretty sure that's next week ---->[] ) ?

If it was my choice, i would prefer a total wipe every months with lvled character creation. Luckyly for you, i don't decide :p ( and who cares ).



Last point.

I read that some players were telling that they wouldn't play anymore if it was a wipe. It is such a pity, but as said, we can't seriously trace every abuse and their consequencies.

So, if many of you feel that it is too early to spend time in this project, make a pause. We thank them for their interest, and invite them to come back later to take a look on whats new.

But please, don't blame dev team for his hard choices, they are consequencies. Blame cheaters they are the cause.

We did. All of our mains and most of our alts are 12/20. What else is there to do, then, but grind and get ready for the next tier? And grinding is still playing the game. We don't have an aversion to PvE that others seem to.

I'm rather annoyed about this. Nalgol said five people on the server have 10,000+ gold. And you guys cannot figure out who the exploiters are, so everyone has to pay the price for their cheating? And now you're gonna ban possible exploiters? How will you decide who is exploiting? Everyone who had more than 1,000 gold? My guildmates and I farmed items and sold them on the auction house. Perfectly honest. And now our time and effort is getting flushed ... because you cannot figure out who the exploiters are. I understand a lot of people are for the change, and I'm certainly not hating on them. From a certain point of view, I can see why it would be necessary. But ALL gold? Can you give the rest of us a break and not wipe it ALL? And the talk of wiping level 12+ items from the inventory? My god, why? That wasn't gained (at least by my guildmates) by illicit means. We honestly farmed them. So, more time and effort lost. You can keep saying over and over "this is an alpha." And you would be right. This is your guys' server, that is correct, and ultimately you can do what you want. We don't pay for the privilege of playing, true. But your project here depends on US (the players), and the time and effort we put in here. And though there are many here loudly applauding the wipe, there's a lot of silent people who are upset. And I worry you may do more harm than good. The gold wipe I can tolerate. I *HATE* it, but I'll get over it. Wiping items now over a certain level? My guildmates won't be back if that happens. If our time and effort won't be respected, we won't give it to you anymore.

LOL you and your bunch of "Care bears" should get your priorities straight, i have 6 or so geared chars and have spent alot of time on this server since it first started and i couldnt care less if there was a full wipe, seeing as its for the greater good. Idk why you and your care bears feel so self entitled, nobody is asking or telling you to farm gear, hoard gold or whatever you have been doing..get over it alrdy.
