I find it curious that this gold wipe was announced on April 12, but a full week ago the rare items started disappearing from the AH en masse, regardless of price. Just like that -- One day they were all gone.

Would be a real shame if certain people on the server are getting inside info on what's going to happen. IMHO, that would be worse than what the exploiters are doing.

Nothing sinister going on with respect to this concern. The exploit started becoming well-known about a week or two ago, and when a similar item-dupe exploit happened several months ago all Gold was reset to 5G. Plus there was a heated thread on these forums about Gold Reset just last week.

I assumed that's what they meant. They clearly stated that exploiters would be punished, and such behavior wouldn't be tolerated - I assumed that meant that they'd ban exploiters. That being said, I don't know if that's feasible, seeing as they can just make a new account and essentially disappear into the ether to commit their crimes again. I'd rather the devs let them keep the account, but wipe all their characters as punishment and keep an eye on them in the future. Perhaps bring in a trusted community member to be a sort of 'probation officer', or set up some form of alert for unusual activity? After all, keep your friends close... but your enemies closer.

I'm also assuming that this issue is slowing down fixes for quests, influence, and myriad other items on the devs' agenda, as well as T2 content, which is a shame. (Though as a melee-er to the core, I'm not sorry to see keeps not in yet. )People on this server need to remember that we're alpha testers as much as players, and have certain responsibilities to the server.
