DPS Shaman

I love my DPS Shaman, even if at 40 they are underwhelming. They are still great fun.

The problem is that to get DPS armour sets you have to do Scenarios and only scenarios. Open rvr and any other gear chase gets you Healing Shaman gear.

A DPS Shaman is less than popular in SCs and there is always someone moaning because you aren't a healer.

Surely it could not be too difficult to facilitate a system where players can swap Emblems for Medallions and visa versa, thereby letting people play however they like and yet be able to get the gear they need??

Not happening.
When you want something specifiy, play the related content.

Play the dps shaman well and nobody will objectively have a reason complain. When your experience is rather underwhelming, then you probably don't fit into this category.

When they still want you to be a healer, they could play one or play in a group.
It is your choice to spec how you like.
Dying is no option.

Could look at pve sets. Don't know about shamans but I know other healers have dps sets for some of their dungeon sets which are really good and can take you pretty far. Could also look at beastlord for starter gear if it has the stats a dps shammy would need.
Let's be friends until our enemy is defeated.

Dominator set is easy and cheap to get, then go for bloodlord

gunbad (redeye) > bb/be (sentinel) > bastion stairs (bloodlrod)

and maybe some parts of offensive sovereign set

5pc dd sov with 3 opp is the way to go. Add 2 genesis and one 4th jewel of choice.
rr61 sc weapon or more offensively the bloodlord staff, but you lose a lot wounds.

2pc bloodlord set (shoulder/cloak) was best in slot for shaman previously, together with 5 opp. Since sov got released, you don't need to farm bloodlord for dd set.
