Problem: Mara loses its proc buffs when switching out of 2 stances (brutality, monstro). Since mara is locked to certain skills in its stances and usually only 1 stance is skilled out, there is nearly no use for switching stances except going monstro from sav/brut for defense proc.
Solution: let stances linger for 5 sec after switching (probably for procs only and not necessarily for skill usage), let it proc of all skills and let stance buffs stay for their duration indipendent of the stance. This would give a reason to switch stances, e.g. from sav to monstro for an aoe dot/aa-speed reduce or from brut to sav for AA-buff and would surely give a nice addition to the gameplay.
Its probably necessary to adjust proc stats, but overall it would mara give a reason to stance dance and enrich the gameplay of a usually 1-button-class.
It probably could help other stance-classes to enhance their gameplay too but i think SW is WiP atm anyways. Also they don't have a proc-mechanic, so it shouldn't be that useful for them.

Re: [Mara] promoting stance dancing
same has shadow warrior, u need use 2-3 sec always to stance dance ( if dont use nerf buttons).
"give wh and witch propper aoe like evrywone has it!"
Re: [Mara] promoting stance dancing
if stance cd are lower, would make more sense to stance dance more often, now is not very encouraging, when u have to be stuck in another stance for at least 5s.

You can only use certain abilities with their corresponding stance, so unless you are not using important abilities, you need to be switching stances. Typical spec is, You start any fight in Savagery stance, Apply Toughness debuff, Wounds debuff, Armor debuff, at this point they are as squishy as you can get them by yourself, so at this point you now switch to Brutality stance, and spam Impale behind them, and finish them with guillotine, or Impale. If you switch targets, or cant kill the first guy & want to try again, You switch back to Savagery stance & repeat. The only spec I can see never switching stances is Monstro, and just for constant defense/self heal, or AOE damage.Wiede wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 8:01 am Problem: Mara loses its proc buffs when switching out of 2 stances (brutality, monstro). If you are not starting in Savagery stance, applying all debuffs, then switching to Brutality to gain the burst, I am no sure what you are doing. & usually, when you swap from Savagery to Brutality, the DoT is still lingering from Savagery.
This used to be true, but they gutted savegery and buffed Monotro so much with the AoE cap increase that it is no longer a viable play spec in ORvR. It can be useful in ranked scenarios / 12 man scenarios and ganking, but in wb play that is useless.

Really kind of not needed and would potentially make the Mara a little overpowered. I'm not a huge fan of this idea.

Re: [Mara] promoting stance dancing
This is not promoting a rewarding proactive stance dance... you just rotate every 10seconds for the needed armor debuff and try to fill the rest of the 5sec sav stance as useful as possible with the permanent feel of wasted 4secs as you do so. Same with Sac/Brut... you probably switch for 1 execute than hang around 4secs feeling like you gimped yourself spamming a not skilled anytimer. If there is no armordebuff or execute, you wouldn't even think about a stance switch. And tbh: Conc Jolt is a pretty attractive alternative to guillotine.DroolingLion wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 8:37 am

With a change like made up here there would be a kinda useful motivation to use that 4 seconds to bring up a buff for your "main stance", e.g. also get double buffs probably? Triple buffs? Sure, sounds OP. But it would never be more than 2-3 seconds.
It would be an more active playstyle old-school aura-system. You could use ALL stances more often and more dynamic than atm to get max out of your mara.
and please remember: it's just an idea, not a whinethread about UP maras (wich they aren't)...
Re: [Mara] promoting stance dancing
maybe reduce cd on stance change to 2.5 instead of 5 sec
