Devs, please consider those people not able to make these 1-off events that would really like to participate. Perhaps you could issue a token, to be redeemed within 3-4 days of the event that would last some % of the 24hour duration, or similar. This would allow any special event quests to be done, or x2 bonuses to be enjoyed a little bit.
Giving a short time period to redeem would keep it localized to the event, while allowing such things are rare cloaks or tittles to be had to show your pride.
