A lot of players I know from old WAR usually run in blue and purple mix...

Im not supporting grind, Im just trying to point out grind is an option, no1 force you to form grind party and farm gors.
Im afraid where these "grind is bad" talks would lead. Like in old WAR where u got no-exp book, pve exp farm GoE, one currency for everything with so laughable cost and requirements? Locking empty zones...? A lot of these things started usually as good ideas and then turned out to be complete dissaster.
Maybe i haven't explained myself correctly.

I'm against grinding, but not because i'm a lazy bastard. It's because there is no one in the lakes to fight. I don't mind going out using conquest gear (check Kranak, Grulo, Prozrag and Gugarul in the army) but i can't find anyone to kill because most people are grinding npcs to get some shitty blue item with maybe 3-4+ stats.

When i complain about grinding, i'm not looking at RoR or the devs. I'm looking at the community; those afraid to do PvP unless they are wearing full purple gear and will grind gors until we get to T3 (and then they will grind whatever the **** we are supposed to grind in T3).

Sad.

@Grulo - ah, sorry. Looks like I completely misunderstood you. From that pov - yeah. Though as you said - it gives u so slight bonus in stats its pointless. Though thats problem with players doing it. Old WAR was the same. Grinding your ass to get to max lvl, then avoid fight and locking empty zones or kill farming to get as much renown as fast as possible.

It might change once they introduce medailons and gear drops from rvr or influence rewards. In t3 every non-lotd gear was garbage compared to rvr one so I think these players would be forced to actually rvr

This post is exactly my problem.

Whatever anyone will say about the merits of PvE, all you are doing when you grind for gear is using the same skills on the same basic mob, over and over again. It's mind-numbing and requires zero skill or intelligence to do, hence why it can be automated with bots. It's also not what this game is supposed to be about.

It has now actively become a problem for me, because what I didn't join this project to see was people sitting in PvE grinding away for gear, because that's where the biggest rewards are.

My suggestions in this case: Make quests viable for XPing. Restore old behavior of mobs, where higher level mobs would break your ass. Tie money gain into RvR, I don't care how - I'm sure someone can think of a better concept for getting money that actually promotes fighting. Remove money drops from mobs when that's done. Link gear to RvR the same way until we have PQs.

NP, it was my fault for not explaining my thoughts correctly.

People will just tag bos to let their mates defend and get tons of gold and then swap. In live many times I got angry tells from my own side for killing someone when they were flag swapping.

Anything simple with too big a reward will be exploited.

That's why we have to think about the idea of actually punishing people for death.

What you really need is renown gear so you have to pvp to wear the best stuff.
