The half-approach

Hello,

In the lastest while on RoR there seem to have been an approach of rolling out stuff, which is related to more finished sysemts supposed to come later on.

From the top of my head I will try to mention a few:
- Increasing the Global cooldown. It was changed with the reasoning something along the lines "this will be in preparation for the ability patch"
Which arrived several months if not half a year later.
- In preparation for the Ability patch, some classes were put into a more RoR-custom stage of being while awaiting next step. Honorable mention to the turret classes. (dont get me wrong I followed and understood the reasoning of ripping up alot of the RoR-additions from over the years and Engineer and Magus are some of the more changed classes from Live)
- Scenario matchmaking is mentioned earlier in this year to be worked on and prioritized.(viewtopic.php?f=15&t=52763) But then we suddenly get this Scenario Idlehand solution to an issue that seemingly is a result of bad-to-no matchmaking in normal scenarios.

And it just makes me wonder, would these changes not have made for a better gameplay experience if such drastic changes would arrive along with finished systems and mechanics they are supposed to handle?

I can see arguments that if we are gonna get a longer Global cooldown then we might aswel get it when it's ready. But the trend seems to lessen the overall RoR gameplay experience to get nerfs, negative changes, or overhauls affecting gameplay while being told the solution or rest of the system will arrive later.

In the RoR community we very much appreaciate Transparency, Roadmaps, Reasonings. It makes us able to understand what direction the ship is headed, so please dont take this as a deadline. Naturally do whatever works for getting the work done, but this is just some food for thought.

Ping me when Battleobjectives are becoming meaningful to the oRvR game as an incentive & tool to spread out the players and the action.

Sometimes may be a bandaid to the solution but good points regardless

I think that it's definitely not ever going to be perfect but giving transparency and roadmaps will help us to prepare for the days, weeks, and months (and years :)) ahead!

If by "band aid" you mean "salt" to help the matchmaker open wound, then yes. This was a great fix.
Detangler and alts - 84 Chosen, other 40s - DoK, Zealot, SH, WE, BG, BO
Destro - Mostly Harmless
Tangler and alts - 8X IB, other 40s - RP, SM
Order - Most dishonorable

This 100% First fix matchmaking then add band aid. Wound will be open until it is clean and ready to use band aid
