I just wanted to say first that this RoR game is fantastic, but one piece of feedback I have for the team is that limiting a healer to "only heal" or a tank to "only tank" takes away the fun of having the option to do the off-set role (eg dps for healer/tank) that some players enjoy. Not all of us are into the classical 2/2/2 meta and want to enjoy their own way of playing the game.
One such example of this unfortunately in my own circle is one of my best friends quitting the game after the bunch o' waaagh for the shaman was removed. I do not know if it would be possible to bring this back but would be so much appreciated to give shamans that option again, even if nerfed.
Overall, I think that the game has a lot of great avenues, and I think one thing that will help keep the game alive is not force players to play a certain class ONLY in a particular way, as that takes away from the fun of having the freedom to choose how you want to play the character and takes away from enjoyment of the game -- for some, so much so that they end up quitting and leaving the game entirely. Therefore, I bring this example of the shaman up not just to hopefully bring bach bunch o' waaagh, but also to highlight the importance of player autonomy and allowing them to play characters how they want to, even if it's not the meta, even if it's not the most effective way of playing.

not sure what u talking about, i just log my sham and there is still bunch of waaagh in my spell idk if its bugged, i missed something in a patch or whatever, i barely use it anyway personally the few time i may have between heal i usual puddle, aoe debuff/buff or rez the boyz but still i would be sad to see that cool spell removed and idk why devs would do such thing...

I think he means that the tactic that halved the cast time of Bunch of Waaagh = double the dmg in half the time. And this was SUPER OP and im glad its changed. Shammy used to have 2 dots instead of 3 right? Am always had 4 dots if i remember right. Whoever decided to change 6s channel to 3s with same dmg ticks really had to play this/these classes. Any of the cast time reduction procs/skills/tactics/morales dont even take away channel's cast time. If Focused Mind actually did this and halved the cast time of things like Withering heat/Hand of Ruin/Indigo Fire of Change etc, people would have complained about "OP SUPER OP PLS IM SCARED" and it would have been changed along time ago!

The actual creators of the game, also created Dark Age of Camelot, every class had multiple ways to play, and could still be effective, with easy access to gear. Tanks, healers etc could spec for their normal class role, or spec as a dps, or hybrid play style, Smite cleric, Heretic, Thane, and Reaver medium armor tank/dps hybrid. . I remember the we don`t like tanks using 2h weapons, as there are to many, so we want to change it where tanks with 2h weapons can not guard, in order to force more tanks to use S+B. They didn`t go through with the changes due to negative feedback,
Sadly when the live game was shutdown, the players that acquired the server/game info to bring the game here to their private server, didn't like that classes could play in more than one playstyle. Nerfing damage abilities, or completely removing them, from classes that had option to play another spec than what they wanted. From looking at the population now vs what it was in 2016 through 2020, seems about half the players moved on
, all they really needed to do was just stop RR points at RR 80 for skills, and anything past 80 was cosmetic weapon/armor appearance items, cool mounts etc. removed crazy high lvl armor, and weapons, as armor creep hurt the game on live, game was most balanced when RR was capped at 80, and Sov was highest armor. I might remember wrong, but i think it was 2018 when alot of changing was happening. I remember i could pounce to keep walls in 2017 as WL. Magus(and engi) could pull 5 enemy 75ft ANY direction, which meant fort/keep walls + Even Warcamps if you position yourself correctly. Anyway 2018 i remember HUGE changes to WL for example Pet was extremely tanky and funnily enough pet worked perfectly back then. RoR was most balanced when 36/40 was max ranks so 3 tactics only and gear gap basically non existent. Actually there was so much better Proc wpns from T4 epic quests. Tanks could get taunt proc in 2h with avoidance proc. 2H choppa and Blorc got 12% Crit dmg/9% Crit dmg proc. Wl and Wp got Increased Crit dmg/rate procs as well.
Kotbs,Chosen,Slayer and Choppa(These are the classes i remember atm) All got Same Boost V proc, Choppa/Slayer got it from 1h and tanks got it from 2h. And these were RR38 influence wpns that currently are in game with nerfed crit amounts and 0 procs. Things like T4 epic proc wpns + inf reward epic proc wpns things that didnt even require lvl 40 were so much better because of the procs.
Best balance in RoR was when Vanq/Opp were the best sets in game and could be combined with Overlord/Imperator for maximum Synergy and flow. You are 2htank with 10% on hit to Taunt target + 10% chance on hit to proc Boost V! You are using 4 Vanquisher for 7% All avoidances proc, then use 2pc overlord or imperator to get 8% All avoidances proc that stacked to 15%=) Another one for tanks was 8% Parry/Block strikethru, and it was espesially great when just using 2h didnt provide 10% parry strikethru.
Imperator Rend soul/Divine Assault 25% off cooldown was AMAZING. Those Sets were designed before, well current RoR staff i quess? That's why(not only reason ofc) they felt right, they felt like they were building towards some goal and PROCS have always been CRUCIAL to achieving those goals, stacking offense or defense doesnt matter but 3-4 procs were DEFINING for close to every spec.
When i really think about it i just cant think about anything RoR has added to the gameplay instead of taking away layer after layer of complexity OR Simplicity that added layers. Can anyone say that they want to run boxes? Does anyone enjoy new lotd instead of the old one ? TOVL+TOMBS+INVADING+DEFENDING+PARKING YOUR CHARS THERE WERE THE WHOLE POINT.
Still respects to the RoR Staff and Huge respekts for still keeping WAR alive, for better or worse=)

I really like the points you bring up.
