RoR charity event?

So we know we can't donate to the project directly, but can we donate to a charity on behalf of the project?

If we can, why not run a RoR charity event weekend/week? The team pick a charity of their choice and we can give the money that we would like to donate to the project to the charity. It could be a great way for the community to show their appreciation for the work the team does and give the team something to show for their work beyond the game itself. Have double xp and/or twitch drops running to increase the playerbase and put a little donation window link when we log in to encourage players to donate. Could even have donation milestones that once hit, players get a reward similar to twitch drops.

With all the rampant negativity in the community over the past few days, something like this could inject a bit of optimism again and bring the community together for a good cause.
