Even if we don't all agree on what to do and how to do it regarding the Slayer, it turns out that the majority seems to agree that this struggling class deserves some attention.

As Destro, I would say:

Slayers - are just cannon fodder. No damage, easy to kill.
WL - Super tanky, mega damage. Pet can pull you even if you are 15ft away.

For sure it is no reason to play Slayer if you can play imba WL

I lost count on all the nerfs so I will talk mostly from a 2H perspective (R.I.P. Retribution) - which I already mained on life (where it was also a fringe spec).

I think Rampage was mostly an issue in AoE spec - I would have tuned it down separately for 2H and dualwield - but still going from 100% strikethrough (even morales) to 20% AND halving the duration was a wild swing.
White Lions in comparison have a base Strikethrough of 10% while doing AoE. Sadly 2H always gets caught up in collateral damage and the nerf hit 2H even harder.

Spellbreaker used to have no cooldown AND removed morale bubbles as well. That made a huge difference in certain fights.
I know that it also got a shatter but I feel the difference especially since it is also by far the most AP efficient attack.

The nerf I wholeheartedly agree with was Deadly Determination.

This and other changes in the past just leaves the impression to me that the balance team either does not look at the whole picture or worse is biased.

I took a long break hoping for some changes but the damage dealer overhaul or niche spec overhaul is nowhere on the horizon.I don't even know if they will address 2H Slayer.

I keep playing it for the aesthetics and animations, I still love my Slayer but I have characters that are much worse geared and have more impact.

Just make them less squishy, that would improve a lot and would fit lorewise. Dmg-output is not that bad, also seen a lot of SL recently, also in Leaderboards.

Rampage was critical to Order’s ability to funnel or break funnels against Dest tank wall and pull spams.

Now Order has nothing and it shows. Population in EU primtime is skewed towards destro heavily. Good luck breaking a siege or into a keep as order against a enemy with anything near even numbers.

The current saying on order is “wait to siege until enemy logs off.” Ppl dont even want to try.

Devs really messed up the balance with this change. Made Order go even more RDPS heavy, and destro melee ball remains as deadly as ever.

Give Slayer back ramapage/rampage but it doesn’t bypass defense when it effect incoming guard damage.

Or give Slayer spammable AoE pull to balance the siege situation. It is massively unfair for Order to lose rampage and not have GTDC or mara pull equivalent (WL garbage pet doesn’t count).

slayer is dead since last year nerfs, its garbage tier no reason to waste your time and energy on it.

prior rampage nerf every dps was slayer in order.
The nerf was necessary but the devs annihilated the class compared to WL. I vote for tune up slayer a little bit.

100% not this. Those changes would do nothing for the classes but destroy their identity. Up the damage to be actually competetive again with all this procc bullshit meta.

The identity can come later tbh. Many classes have lost theirs (Chosen Crippling Strikes, etc.). A good start would be, especially with damage/ranged damage at an insane place, removing/reducing the -toughness debuff and armor/resistance debuff.

I have both a Choppa and mSH at 80+ and played my Choppa to 90+ on live. My mSH can do everything my Choppa can do and has 2x the survivability. This is similar to Order with WL and Slayer, except the WL is much better than the mSH.

The strain it causes a team to support a Slayer/Chopper is not worth it versus using other classes. A simple, quick approach to at least buying time is to remove the -toughness debuff from the tactic, remove the resistance debuff entirely and drop the armor reduction to -25% max.

armor reduction is redundant on that class because, even without debuff, most aoe attacks are not physical. They could, instead of making toughness reduction tactic rework, make it increase strenght (primary offense stat) together with initiative (which increases parry) and make berserk state give additional dodge/disrupt but reducing armor as of now.

or what you suggested. Anything at this point to make it at least work well in its role (AoE DPS) would be welcome.
