Doing PvE (maybe just pre-40) should give you rested xp for Renown

This is assuming rested XP for renown is a thing that's programmable in game, I have no idea

I just think it's a shame that PvE and questing is so directly disincentivized because it gimps your renown. I know, PvE to Bloodlord is actually the optimal way to gear up, you're not actually bricking your character at all, but it would still cushion the blow if you were able to relax a little bit and diversify your experience on the way to 40 without feeling punished for it. Also it would just feel really good to blast through like 30 renown levels in record time once you got done with it.
