[Suggestion] General server improvements with a focus on new player experience

  • Debuff/buff for the opponents when several warbands are in a certain range within each other (there have been recent cases of 3 warbands on the same Discord farming pugs).
  • Improve the outnumbered buff to promote staying with lower numbers instead of dodging/xrealming.
  • Longer xrealm timer especially in T1 and midtier.
  • Forbid twinks in low tiers.
  • Never release events that encourage premades to farm noobs for time-gated items ever again. The new player experience is bad enough already and FOMO in a MMO shouldn't be a thing and killed many of them already.
  • Normalize mount movement speed from T2 onwards so that it's the same for everyone.
  • Add catch-up mechanics for PvP-oriented players to catch-up to RR80 (including gear) faster. No catch-up on a 12 years old game = red flag.
  • Reduce War Crests costs to balance PvE and PvP respective grind time needed.
  • Remove or rework wards to let people skip sets if they want to.
  • Add objectives/incentives for 6-man roaming.
  • Host tournaments for various scales (e.g. solo, 6-man, WB etc.) with exclusive cosmetic rewards and get progressively bigger streamers from other games to stream them with an experienced member of the community as color caster.
  • Give people the cosmetics they want, the "lore" of the game isn't canon nor makes sense anyway and goblins can have pirate hats already.

Re: [Suggestion] General server improvements with a focus on new player experience

Alright, I'll play along :)

- aoe debuff/buff for people in the area would be nice if it could be done without causing massive lag for everyone on the same map (think LOTD, but everywhere).

- outnumbered buff to promote staying with lower numbers:
Would be nice, but the server has a history of going all-out against solo roamers. On the other hand we had death buff during Saga event which buffed your stats (stackable) on death and respawn and it went away as you killed enemies. It made lowbie players survive longer in the field and promoted roaming at the same time. I'd love to see it as regular feature

- Longer xrealm timer especially in T1 and midtier:
THIS. Live had xrealm lock of 6 hours. Currently we have 90 minutes which is enough to push one zone and swap for defence. Sure, it's not as abused as it was in the past but 120-180 would be ideal with current numbers. And before others get pitchforks and torches - side stacking is on players as well as avoiding it. "Accidental" logging to one side and getting lock is bullshit because you need to get flagged (and hit someone) to get a lock. It could be further tweaked, I am sure.

- Forbid twinks in low tiers.:
and how on Mork's green earth would you do that? Especially since those "twinks" are usually players with decimator or braggart set equipped and blue talismans slotted. Rvr or chapter influence weapons. Maybe "hidden" quest jewels and cape... You know, playing the game.

- Never release events that encourage premades to farm noobs for time-gated items ever again.:
THIS. You have my 100% support on this one. Alternatively set event scenarios as solo and premade que to give people choice.

- Normalize mount movement speed from T2 onwards so that it's the same for everyone.:
kinda defeats the purpose of mount progression since there's hardly anything other differentiating it and you can get max movement speed mount from events which are pretty frequent. But sure, make every mount 59% speed in pvp. Why not?

- Add catch-up mechanics for PvP-oriented players to catch-up to RR80:
what do you think dungeons are for? It's precisely the catch-up mechanic put in place for players to get their wards and gear in a week instead of months.

- Reduce War Crests costs to balance PvE and PvP respective grind time needed:
on one hand: sure, pvp set cost is way too high. On the other hand lowering the cost makes pve sets obsolete. Then again end-times live didn't have wards and you could just buy the gear you had renown rank requirement for. Food for thought.

- Remove or rework wards to let people skip sets if they want to.:
next step: rr80 template on char creation. But sure, remove wards, arguments as above.

- Add objectives/incentives for 6-man roaming.:
why just 6-man roaming and not solo or 2 or 3 man roaming? Bring back solo and small scale roaming, 'nuff said.

- Host tournaments for various scales:
pretty much agreed, as long as whole game is not balanced around it.
Rewards should be mostly cosmetics (and some weapons as well), que system pairing players based on MMR (you gain by winning, loose it on defeat) and you can get almost every reward by simply playing the tournament, best three (or 6 or 10) get title, currency and extra cosmetics to make everyone else jelly. Crossout has such tournament events twice a year and (un)surprisingly they have 70-80% community involvement because everyone can play and it still scratches that competitive itch. There are even custom classes and skills built just for the tournament to even out playing field. Occasion to add skaven, ogres, vampires and other races / classes to the game and maybe even let top 3 keep their tournament class skin in rvr as reward? Imagine that...
Add 24v24 guild tournaments with special rewards and crafting materials. Stream it on twitch with commentary. I feel like I've been asking for it since 2019 and still, in 2025, nothing changed.
(But overhauling whole game so that 12 or 18 people can have their "ranked" small scale? No.)

- Give people the cosmetics they want, the "lore" of the game isn't canon nor makes sense anyway and goblins can have pirate hats already.:
lore wise goblins already had pirate hats, just check area around chapter 5. Also: giving NPC gear to one race only is a recipe for dissent, resentment and player's rage. As has been stated by devs on numerous occasions: we will not give cosmetics to one race only, it's either everyone or noone. If you want to speed up the process join art team to help us out. Without lore there is no Warhammer. EOT.
