Man you would put me in trouble, because I love Bretonians and vampires lore. And would be very hard to decide wich I'd play first haha.

A lot of animations and base models could be interchanged and used for the new class concepts. Bretonnians at the end of the day are just humans but Vampires would be a bit harder however they could also use human animations as placeholders. Of course, we'd want to see new animations and models entirely but as a starting point a lot of this could be done with what we have already.

There is also a PvE team actively creating new zones and dungeons and new enemies to fight, so the environmental side of things could be done in theory. I also think that while a full-scale expansion/DLC would be best for something like this, drip-feeding it into the game could also work, with a new class added every few months.

With all that said I also know it's not impossible after they specifically said on stream that they can currently add new classes and skills to the game but it's simply a matter of "is it wanted and worth it?" So if these ideas (or the concept at the least) sound good and we let them know we want it maybe we could see something in the distant future?
Again don’t let people pipe the dream! Advocate for it if it’s something you want! Don’t let stagnant people kill the game you love! I know I’ll be advocating for new races and classes as often as possible!

Do you have any idea how many 1000s of man hours you’re talking about here? And don’t forget that’s unpaid labor by people that enjoy playing the game and oftentimes have their hands full rolling out new events/dungeons/cosmetics that they’ve been adding over the years.
I don't think that's the main issue. There are thousands of people who would gladly contribute. More likely, they are afraid to change the game too much, because IP owners might not like it.

Aye, im pretty confident that there would be more than enough level designers, environment artists & hard surface artists who would volunteer to help out with new locations & armors (respectively), just as several character artists to help with models/character skins.

VFX & animations - i reckon those may, to an extent, be re-used (and again, im pretty confident that people would volunteer to help out).

Design - well, its a tricky thing, but hey, it feels like RoR team has recently got someone who is alright as a mechanics/gameplay designer (AM mechanics, recent patch mechanics etc).

Coding tho...with the dated engine of the game and, to my udnerstanding, absence of an access to the source code - this may be hella tricky.

Yet all in all, i dont see why an ambition move such as a decision to develop an expansion for ROR would not potentially be possible (a top-notch producer would be required tho...free of charge) if we were to consider technical aspects alone.

IP/Legal aspects - thats a totally different beast tho and i believe ROR admins may get brutally "loved" by EA's legal team if they were to make such a move i.e. to create an expansion.

This is all excellent stuff and would, if ever implemented, without doubt boost interest in the server. I would love to play a Vampire based class, I imagine so would numerous others. However your 'pipe dream' context is probably the most accurate. Which is sad, because at one time their was an individual associated with the server who was capable of doing all of this.

But good work, it is a fun idea to kick around. Sending a hoard of bats out to harass some caster, that would be fun.

Well Skavens would probably be possible because they did exist on Live (as a semi playable race).
The rest is wishful thinking as it indeed would require a full team and hundred of hours.
Everything that was added to the game in the past years came from unused existing assets (Dwarf/ork capital), so Skaven may come one day (I hope in a form more enjoyable than what was released on live).
