1 - magus, herders, shamans, AMs, engy etc, which have similar or even better escape tools as SW, ALSO DIDN'T HAVE ANY SELF SUSTAIN

2 -if self damaging classes with no ranged abilities like choppa or slayer DIDN'T HAVE LIFE TAPS AND OTHER REGEN AND SELF SUSTAIN STUFF.
Magus is overpowered/broken we all know that, AM/SHaman are per design problematic since they are healer classes with high damage enough ( zealot/runepriests) and still full range attack.

These are not good models to go by, SW ( SH ranged feels squishy). Let SW/SH remain squishy arches with a lot of mobility, i.e give them a new ability to break snare/roots once a minute to further improve their kiting tool-box.

What SW does need however, is sustain and durability in their Assault spec(real spec , not stance dance in archer mode). IN fact ASW is the spec that need the most improvement and attention in upcoming dps class patches, it just lacks a purpose and direction and feels pointless after all the damage the years of patching did to ASW.

Ha, nice thread. You pin point pretty major design issue, kudos, nicely done. Hopefully what we may see in DPS patch wont be blind nerf/buff hammer swing catering into who says what, but rather a logical design plan which will give classes/builds a soul, a purpose, increase of diversity and possible ways to play in different game environments.

But sadly all we are left to do is just hope.

Strictly on a topic, yes, all classes have some form of selfsustain (its performance good or not is other issue) beside SW (SH can eat a pet and has a miniguard). What to do with it? There are only two options - a) alike modern games, every class has decent selfsustain, this solution is solo roamers paradise b) increase dependencies and synergies, do nothing with classes selfsustain but rather build even more tricky synergies between them, group enjoyers paradise.

Rather than weird niche wishes for solo players I`d see every class have a viable WB spec. And I think that goes for the fast majority of the community.

Shadow Warrior already has a viable warband spec. What is needed, imo, is a slight AP reduction to a few abilities, some buffs to Assault spec, and a tweak to stances in general to feel less of a hindrance to the flow of the class.

Edit: Also, the devs need to make Shadow Sting and Takedown 100 feet. They increased every other Skirmish ability already with the SW changes, they just need to finish it. 65 foot snare feels god awful especially with all the added gap closers added to this server.

Is that why I am being told to come on my WL all the time? Sure you can play an SW but if people build a somewhat serious WB you might be lucky and get a slot as a Moral Drain gimmick SW. Let's not pretend like there is no very solid meta when it comes to DPS slots in a WB, please.

I believe so too, that should be a priority. Rest can be done afterwards

No one in their right mind would compare a warband spec SW to a warband spec WL. I'm just saying that the WB spec SW is in a fine place at the moment. Also, if a warband leader doesn't want an aoe SW, then that's not a warband I'd want to join anyway. I don't have any issues topping or close to kills/damage when I join my alliance WBs as aoe spec.

Well if you have 8 DPS slots in your WB, you should compare the classes according to what they bring. And currently that is a very narrow field.

I am pretty sure that (just like me) you would net better results playing your WL. However I am happy for you that you found a guild that is willing to let you play your SW anyway.

I agree with you, 110%, I was just responding to what you said initially. Maybe I read it wrong but I thought you were saying since this is a SW thread, that the class didn't have a WB focused spec is all. Honestly, I'd like to see aoe stay where it's at (assuming said class is in a very good spot), then single target go up for those who are falling behind. Obviously aoe on some classes would need to meet or get close to, say, a WL, but single target should get to a point where it's consistently higher than aoe. Just don't think the game is there yet.
