PvE and Dungeons Roadmap: October Update

Hi everyone!

After many months of work, we hope you've all enjoyed the recent launch of the Lost Vale Dungeon!

We shared our last PvE & Dungeons Roadmap with you at the start of this year, and now, eight months later, we'd like to give you another update to share what we've marked off the list, and what you can expect next as we head into the winter months of 2025.

We also realize many of you are curious about things like Scenario Matchmaking, future RvR changes, and Class Balance. We’ve seen those team leads working hard, and as before, it’s up to each team to share their own roadmaps once they feel it’s right. In the meantime, on the PvE front, let’s jump in!

This year's Progress:

- Lost Vale launched! We've read your feedback and we're glad to see people are really enjoying the dungeon. We're continuing to make small adjustments and bug fixes to the Dungeon, and will keep tuning and polishing it through the end of the year.

- We added support for Hard Mode achievements! We debuted these as a surprise in Lost Vale, and we were glad to see very positive feedback for them.

- Our tools to add new Back Pieces, Helmets, and Shoulders have improved significantly. From 24 new Lost Vale backs to recent Pirate Hats, we’re making strides towards even more brand new Fashionhammer options in the future.

- Hunter's Vale was updated and given a facelift back in March of this year. All bosses were shifted into new Lua coding, a new optional Secret Boss was added, two new liniments were also added.

- Speed Run Quests for both Crypts and Bilerot Burrows were added as planned.

- The T3 PvE Re-work was completed!

Next, let’s dive into what's to come for the final part of this year:

Gunbad Re-work

Gunbad will be getting a facelift to restore a number of the Dungeon's mechanics. This means far fewer fights where you just stand behind a boss and kill it, and more fights where movement, mechanics, and interacting with specific objects are key to victory. We're happy with the current run time for Gunbad, so even with the new mechanics going in, the goal is to keep the total time very close to where it is now.

There will also be some new Quality-of-life improvements added to Gunbad while we're at it, which we think almost everyone will appreciate.

Testing on the new Left and Right wings of Gunbad is starting this weekend, and any 6-man group can submit their feedback to help us tune the new mechanics by signing up in the PTS channel on discord!

Bastion Stair Re-work

Bastion Stair has been a tough dungeon, especially in pug groups, for a long time. This was the first Dungeon we rebuilt at the start of last year, and back then, we were directed to make it mirror to how it was before.

We’ve learned and improved on a lot since then, and now it’s time to return to Bastion Stair, gut half the mechanics that are boring or unfun, and rebuild the Dungeon to be a faster, more engaging, and more streamlined experience. Many fights will still be hard, but like Lost Vale, they'll now be mechanic-focused fights. Expect quite a few improvements when we get this Dungeon in for testing following the Gunbad re-launch.

New T3 Dungeon

We announced this one back in February, and we can confirm it's still on our list, likely arriving next year so our modelers have time to build new assets for it. This Dungeon will be for players around level 25, and will fill the gap in between Sewers / Sacellum and Gunbad. Stay tuned for more news on testing and the launch window for this Dungeon in the future.

T4 PQ & Quest Re-work

With the T3 re-work now finished, our team has started work on the final, and largest tier of chapter influence and quests to update, and that's Tier 4. These updates and improvements have already started with the Chapters 15-18 PQ rework, and with updated and improved influence rewards arriving in next week’s patch. We hope to update the quests for these chapters by the end of this year, but it is a monumental amount of work, so we appreciate everyone’s flexibility on the timeline.

Continued Quality-of-life improvements

Beyond Gunbad and Bastion Stair, we’re also working on additional quality-of-life improvements across all PvE content. We recently added in a new mercy quest for Chapter 22, allowing players guaranteed gear even if their bag rolls end up short more often than not.

You’ll also be hearing soon about updates and improvements to the lair bosses as part of the Tier 4 rework. We’ll have more information about this in the future.

Land of the Dead and TOVL

As mentioned earlier this year, we’ve not forgotten the Land of the Dead or Tomb of the Vulture Lord! Our coders have made early progress upgrading our PQ system so we can properly rebuild these LOTD PQs, and we’ll have status updates to share on LOTD, all its Public Quests, its Four Tombs (Lairs), and TOVL in our next roadmap, as we tackle rebuilding this massive project from the Live server back into RoR.

Upcoming Live Events

You can see a sneak peek at the upcoming Live Events in the image above, and please note that some will be arriving at a much faster pace than the Dungeons listed above them.

Daemon Moon Decaying arrives for all you Nurgle enjoyers starting next weekend, followed by the return of the Grudge-building Saga event in November. Keg End will return to round out the year in December, and next January will see the return of the Cosmetic Cape event Hexensnacht, which also features the return of some nice weapon skin cosmetics.

New Achievements: As many of you probably noticed with Seas of Slaughter and the Great Feast, we’re now adding Achievements in for all the Live Events, granting new titles, items, cosmetics, and sometimes pets for players to earn. Your progress towards these achievements is permanent per event and carries over year to year, so you can keep building towards the big achievements bit by bit.

Thanks for reading!

And that’s all for now! It’s been a busy year for us, and we’d like to take a moment to thank all of our testers in the community who gave up their weekends to help, alongside all the staff, artists, voice actors, and more who made this year’s new content possible.

Thank you for your messages of support and feedback as we continue to improve the Dungeon, PvE, and Live Event experience for both our new players and veterans alike. One year down - here’s to the end of 2025 and even more new content in 2026!

Thank you for reading!

Its great and i'm glad that this game have some updates, but... What about PvP items/content in, you know, PvP-oriented game? Lets be honest, most people who comes here - looking for PvP. When do you release so much PvP items, like you do with LV update? Why i must do PvE to get some weapons with stats/bonuses that i need for PvP?
Most players here dont want to do PvE at all, but for some reason you forced them too... Jew3 with slot, which you can get ez in PvE dungeon or wait like eternity when you finally can get 10k crests. Gold, which you need for everyday pots, but you cant get it in PvP at all (weekly 60g instead of crests, rly?) Now OP weapons and bis in they tier sets from LV... I really dont understand why you do this.

I like what you guys did on Sentinel's runs, BB and Crypts got fast and fun. But I'm worried about what is going to happen in Gunbad. For me, the dungeon is nice as it is now. Just tank'n spank and low mechs. A early endgame dungeon shouldnt be harder than Bastion Stairs, but Gunbad is and depending what you guys are going to do, it can get back to be a super boring dungeon full of mechs and people will only want those experienced or guildiemates to do that, like is happening to LV.

Thank you for the information, please pve devs, listen to the community. Tbh, GB is fine as is, like others have mentioned, where it is rn, its a good starter dungeon that a fresh 40 can get used to running dungeons. And, it isnt a headache for those vets to assist the fresh 40s. If GB is going to turn into a headache again, not many will run it.

Please be mindful what this game is really around, pvp, there are plenty of mmos based around pve.

Can yall ask the your fellow devs about following

1. Dps revamp that has been promised possible eta??
2. Sc updates, match making system and such
3. Pvp based gear and weapons ( weapons mainly ) as bis rn is predominantly pve weapons.

Again, i appreciate the update on pve info, but core aspects seem to have been pushed asside for all this new pve stuff.

Please just a bit love for us SC enjoyers, at least revert barriers in SCs and give a room to breath for solo quers to not be forced to be farmed, add guards to spawn again and guardkills give RPs.
