So there might be a procentage of the playerbase out there who have one destro account & one order account. I havnt met these people myself, but it could be a thing. So a lockout would not affect these players.
Its not account-based last i checked. However lockout is so easily bypassed that its existence is very questionable. Afaik wargrimnir did also claim previously that there is ToS prohibiting it but no mechanics to prevent/monitor bypassing, so its upon players to willingly not do that and thats it.

1 week is ridiculously over the top.
If something was to be done, which I really don't think is necessary, then it can't just be a blanket lock out as that just punishes people who actually swap for the right reasons (trying to balance the numbers)
Make it so you can swap to the lower population side with no lock out at all, but swapping to the higher population side hits you with some sort of lockout, although nothing as extreme as a week.

My Opinion...ROR is a nice game with a toxic community. Devs give the people what they want and so always one side dominate the other...ever join the winning team. X-realming shows the problem. Only a view people change the side to the underdog and if there are too much people, everyone change the side and the balace shift. Duallogging ftw.
I see no possible solution for the problems, only the thing you hear from other players...you can go if you want. You don't pay money for the game. Be happy or bye bye.

Normal pop left long ago, these on this thread are the x-realmers you were complaining about who take benefit from this system, you wont win this argument with them

Yes let's take a server with a very small population and add even more restrictions. It'll definitely work out.

Good players look for aao and switch to the weaker side in order to take advantage of aao and not have trouble finding opponents, and such a change would interfere with that.
The fact that noobs switch to the currently dominant side is their business.
As a AAO hunter [From LIVE & RoR],

I live for AAO... the higher the better.

One week lockouts will kill... I repeat... WILL KILL the population.

Only rational arguement for xrealm is punish those that swap for bag/tick by using proximity markers based on the individual's factions playtime from the program file [which could minimize mutiplie account usage] that was interacted with compared to the AAO of the realm from those time markers.

Calculus based programming goes a long way ;]

Also, reward and support the players that stay logged in during "xrealming" instances. I don't know how yet, haven't put much thought beyond simple logic.

Xrealm this Xrealm that. Who ever thinks Xrealm has any negative effect on RvR, is right out delusional. Xrealm is the Booman. The Copium. The excuse for those who fail to understand how this multi region player server works.

Somehow people still believe that there would be whole guilds or even alliances, that would put in all the effort and brain power to push one side to a keep or fort, then switch side and defend it for bags.
YOU ARE DELULLU!
Keep and fort rewards are weak. You can be the top notch player. Be the Tank, Healer or dps with the highest contribution. At the end the only thing that defines if and what reward you get is your cumulative Bag roll bonus and the RNG dice roll.
1 Hour of Praag, Highpass, Troll Country... back and forth zerging, gains you more RR and Crest then any Keep or Fort.

Most Guilds have scheduled event days. We have 3 main Event warband evenings per week.
2 Dwarf themed. 1 Goblin themed and some group orientated Umgi and Elgi orientated.
We have Members that normally play Destro mains, that join our dwarf themed Warbands
for the fun.
By making the lockout timer longer, we could no longer have our gobbo night. Our members from the destro side could no longer join us.
Then you add other things to the list you loose too.
- No more finishing live event stuff on both sides with your account.
- No more testing of changes and abilities on the other side.
- New players who want to test out what class/classes to play, would have to wait 1 week to test out the other fraction.

The lockout restrictions right now are already way to strong. It does not even have to be Xrealm. Play DPS in a warband in Praag for 1 Hour. A tank or healer loggs off. ''Can some DPS switch to Tank or Healer?''. You switch and enter Praag RvR zone. Your DPS char looses 1 Hour of hard earned contribution in that Zone, as a punishment for helping to keep the Warband being functional.

Not MORE restrictions! LESS restrictions. We play here for fun. No lootboxes, world leaderboards or real money auction houses. Even the gold seller services have given up on trying to sell stuff here. Stop blaming Xrealm and just start to understand that Fraction population shifts are happening because of Timezones. People do not go over to the other side when they loose a Fort at 23.00 EU time. They go to bed. And the 2 WBs that show up 30 min after that are those who just came home from work on NA time.

Why only 1 week? xDD

Every 10 days someone creates topics about x-realm and remove premade from game....

This is some kind of mandela effect specific to WAR (c) Grock

I'll repeat my message from the previous similar topic:

I think dude never played on live servers. Back when x-realm was not availablet. Almost ALL 60+ servers were one side most of the time.
We once spent literally more then six months on destro when order had 400% AAO everyday. To say it was boring is an understatement.
When you come to play in the evening, and your whole gameplay is standing near enemy wc and do nothing.

At this moment a bunch of my friends just stopped playing game (from both sides) =/

I was there Gandalf, I was there 3000 years ago (с) :D

___
Personally, I always only go to the side with AAO.
If they remove that option, what's the point of playing? I don't want to experience those flashbacks from live versions where the opponents have big AAO and you're dying of boredom.

dasparkylad wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 7:45 pmSimple one this, make the lockout timer for switching sides. Simple fix to all the xrealming that goes on right now and is destroying the game. Either you want to play order or destruction. If you just want easy wins go play another game.

A bit harsh I think.

Solutions to an issue which impose punishment upon the player=base are counterproductive. We get enough of that crap in real-life.
