Soft No for mixed faction.

dont want it during prime time.
but maybe a switch gets flipped during low acitivty hours that enables it?
like sub 500 players mixed faction queues are enabled?

preferably not at all. but it would be nice to be able to get some crest/RR during the dead hours instead of fighting the same 2 roaming groups at the lakes.
I X-Realm to the losing team to make them lose harder.

Racial fights incoming. Greenskin vs Dwarfs. Chaos vs High Elves...whatever, I would be ok with that ;) Cross Faction, not so much.

I would first off like to thank everyone who took part in the test yesterday. It highlighted some issues and provided great feedback for us.

First of all some people mentioned that the set of changes was similar to the ones for the last test. While the earlier test mainly provided a test for the systems around matchmaking and the actual matchmaking system itself we decided we needed to focus on the actual match function implementation (the logic in which teams are put together to form matches). The match function was completely rewritten between this time, so this was a good test of the new match function in action.

We did experience some problems with the match function and put in some fixed during the day. However, the final fix was implemented quite late. While this issue was a bit disrupting, and caused a knock on effect with queue times. We got some solid data when things were working.

Thank you for people putting out feedback here, it is greatly appreciated. Feel free to continue posting feedback here, it will be read.

Right now I am going to spend a few weeks ironing out some systems and fix some of the bugs highlighted.

Thank you again.

This system doesn’t work for Tier 3. All it takes is a few minutes browsing the killboard scenarios to see how bad this has been for Tier 3. Due to the randomness caused by players having wildly different power levels, the games end up being poorly balanced. A month ago, you could queue up and both sides would get a ton of kills and decent rewards. Now, you get games like these, where you fight for eight minutes with zero kills, end up in a 2v5, or get completely blown out. Backfilling doesn’t appear to work at all. The queue times have grown incredibly long.

Most games end in surrender, low kills, complete blowouts, or end early due to not having enough players on one side. Even after testing ended, this is still an issue. Part of the problem is the new UI, which forces you to queue individually for each match instead of clicking once to “Join All.” If you only click “Join Solo,” you queue exclusively for Discordant Skirmish.

You should probably leave Tier 3—and likely Tier 1—out of this change for the overall health of the game.

My suggestion would be to remove Discordant Skirmish from Tier 1 and Tier 3, and add a “Join All” option to the new UI.

Edit: Just for science, I went back and checked the last three pages of games, and the overwhelming majority ended early due to one side having more players. This includes all tiers of games. It seems like Discordant Skirmish is not working correctly at all.

Some people would rather die on the hill of their rping lore accurate 20yo game that has 10 min queues for scenario (and hopefully its not a sweep/unbalanced/prem) which discourages new players from going past t1. The same people that when a faction is getting swept crossrealms to have fun

Its 2026 people wanna log in and play theres enough lore accurate faction war in rvr, it wont hurt to deviate a lil bit to make the gameplay, and specially the fun aspect of a game, better

100% this.

Who cares about the lore relevance of mixed faction SCs? And where do they find the time?

Spoilers: Live wasn’t canon. Neither is RoR.

People want to PvP in their PvP game—not roam around for six hours knocking down meaningless forts that just get reset like bowling pins. I don’t care if that means I sometimes have to *gasp* accept that a sorc and an SM are playing together.

Fun is fun. Don’t like it? Don’t participate.

If making the game more playable, enjoyable, and actually attractive to new players is what tips someone over the edge into quitting… then quit?

There aren’t any scary Delf + Helf teamups in Total Warhammer 3, if that’s all you’re after.

Why do you die on the hill to play said 20 year old game? There are plenty of games where you can get quick arena like action. If that is what you value there is no reason to stay on this nostalgia server.

And it is not just rp and lore. This is a wargame between two factions. The entire game is centered on this war. Mixed factions deviate from the games core concept of war between non mirrored factions.
