Mvl130 wrote: Fri Feb 13, 2026 12:42 pm Regarding shield healers, what I notice in scenarios, is for example Runepriests stacking armor talismans, despite remaining in the backline, and greatly out-healing shield spec.

While with your shield spec, you are forced to invest into full strength talismans, because otherwise your healing output is non-existent. And despite this investment, you now deal low damage, because of this base heal change they made. You have as such lower defenses than backline healers, who heal for more while taking less risk : their healing output is more consistent, because they are not susceptible to kiting, snares or parry stacking do not affect their ability to heal, and receive less knockbacks and stuns because they are away from the melee train

There is not a single thing shield specs do better than backline healers, you die all the time, your healing output is weak and inconsistent, you no longer have assist damage, you steal a guard slot ; any WE hitting you with healing debuff poison is enough to make you 100% worthless, and it's easy for them to do so, because you are forced to be in melee

I mean what the hell is this
Indeed, healers usually run a lot of armor to survive (which makes sense), while shield WP/DoK have to stack Strength just to have even minimal healing.

As a curious data point: in my most recent shield scenarios, and according to the killboard/scoreboard, roughly 30% of the healing I did was spent keeping myself alive; whereas other healers typically had self-healing closer to around 10%. And even then, with a 3+3+3 armor setup (to maximize Strength, Weapon Skill, and Wounds), my survivability was still low, my damage was negligible and my heals was very low.

Not to mention that Divine Assault was healing for 400 ticks, when on a 2H DPS build I can easily get 1000 ticks. :|

I'm 100% positive Elixir/oil stealth+speed was introduced a few years after the game came out. Veterans can confirm. I still remember being shocked at seeing a WH vanish midfight after returning to playing the game after a long hiatus
Indeed it was introduced in RoR and can be deleted again.

Regarding the balance of shield WP/DoK, the HoT change feels more like a joke than an attempt to fix the spec. If you’re open to a suggestion, the best—and simplest—fix you could do is to significantly increase the healing multiplier relative to damage (especially now that shield heals can be debuffed; it’s only fair), and reduce the Righteous Fury cost of “Sigmar’s Wyll” to 40 RF (the same cost as pre-patch Divine Strike, but hitting a single target instead of three) instead of 80. With that, shield WP/DoK would be playable again.
Totally agreed. Just tune up the numbers of melee heal skills.

i.e to be like 10% more than regular cast heal (to make up for the risk. or change back to not be affected by HD)

I appreciate that the shield specc is getting looked at, but I hope you guys understand that the purpose of the shield specc is not to get into melee range to the just stand in there and waste 6x GCDs for keeping the HoT up on each group member instead of actually hitting for heal like the specc intented 😜

Melee healers are fine. The problem is normal healers healing too much without heal crit or wp

no a revert would have bin to not let us have 25% less armor, so it was NOT a revert and class is still bottom tier
Oh i thought they reverted the 25% totally not just resistance. I didnt test it yet. Still, a step in a good direction.

tbh u could say a step in right direction but was already an unnecessary change they made December 18th to already weakest classes ingame. So yea this is still bad, I just park it for now.

Same, that -25% armor is still huge (average as 18-20% more incoming damage from physical attacks). The removal of the -%Resis is noticeable in terms of I can reach my opponent, and my health is at 75% instead of 50%.

The 2H tweaks are nice but I'll probably park my Choppa again unless they revert. The AOE WB role is old, did it for years when City mattered, etc. so just interested in small-game play and solo, which -25% armor makes a lot less fun and build diversity.

Premade players solo queue and make premade on sc to farm pugs as always.
Mix realms on sc to avoid abuse.

It’s like when they screw up, they have a hard time admitting it and correcting course. Yeah, the armor nerf is a dumb move — and refusing to remove it is just another one.
