Because that can be gamed and the proposal is only a temporary restriction on renown, XP, crests and bags until their 'timer' runs out. It allows them to play the game which, quite frankly, is what we are all here for!

I guess some amendments that could be made to the delivered solution is:
  • Check if the player has the debuff already, if so, do not refresh it
  • If the AAO of the side they enter the lake on is > 0% then do not apply debuff
With the 2nd point it really promotes people to swap sides and not get the penalty when it balances the lake better.

Also - if tier is tier1, dont apply debuff.

I'm relatively new to the server, and haven't followed the devs stances on different topics across the ages but, from this reply (viewtopic.php?t=44442&start=20#p581941), it seems that up to august 2025 having multiple accounts was more or less tolerated. Even circumventing the lockout was not really punished or prosecuted ("If someone really wants to get around our very minor lockout timer and implementation, they can, but they'll know we would rather they didn't and have to live with that mild guilt of disapproval for several minutes").

Has the devs stance changed with the new lockout system? It would be appropriate to have a clear reply to this I guess.

The patch for this was a step in the right direction but i dont think the implementation of this was quite right. Having the timer start on the LAST received renown is just wrong and it should start on the FIRST point of renown received. (So if you start your warband and you play for 90 minutes, you can be sure that there will be no lockout if you log over). Additionally it needs to take account of the two criteria in the quoted post.

Having said all this, whats the downside of removing the lockout entirely now.

Nah, i think it 100% sure be last received, this stops the win swappers. May be put in a toggle like you said based on AAO, or even a stricter 36 / 48 hr realm lock.

Are win swappers even an issue. They'd still need to build contribution to get anything anyway....

I guess another idea is dont reduce xp, contrib, crests or renown gain at all but instead apply a simple -10% Damage debuff for the duration.
