The only thing that would make shield spec good in warbands is Sigmar's Will, as far as I'm concerned, which maybe can result in good numbers, sure, not much beyond these

I have a crazy idea that would reinforce the melee support identity instead of just buffing numbers.
Make every Shield WP melee ability affect up to 2 targets in AOE (cone)
The important part is this:
* If the attack successfully hits an enemy, the ability works exactly as it does now, with its full healing/lifetap potential calculated over the strongest hit / higher damage.
* If no enemy is hit (out of range, no target selected, target defended, etc.), the skill still activates, but with a reduced “support” version of its effect.
Examples:
* Sigmar’s Fist could still provide its Strength buff to nearby allies.
* Benediction could still apply a weaker absorb.
* Other support abilities could still trigger their utility at reduced effectiveness.
This would solve one of the biggest frustrations of Shield WP: becoming almost useless whenever there is nothing to hit. You would still be rewarded for fighting in melee, because landing attacks gives the full healing value, but you wouldn’t lose your entire toolkit just because you temporarily have no target.
It also creates interesting gameplay. The best Shield WP is still the one actively hitting enemies, but the class always contributes something during pushes, retreats, target swaps or when enemies are kiting.
The identity remains “melee healer”, but the gameplay becomes much smoother and less binary...same can be applied to dok.
