I heard some nice ideas yesterday like unlock 2 zones at the same time but keep the timers as they are.
This could allow people to gather up no matter the faction or strength of the enemy faction and wouldn't fuel the "let's join the winning side" mentality. Furthermore, pvp rewards should be logically only rewarded to pvp players thus fighting empty keeps is pve and shouldn't reward xp or medallions I would enforce the following:

1. wipe all soldier medallion gear
2. make soldier medallion gear cost crazy amounts like 1000 medallions
3. reward people soldier medallions per each team kill near BO or keep for all team players.

It has never been an issue completing 150 kill quests so people wouldn't be able to complain about this...

thats rifts conquest system and it removes all the warhammer specifics, like fights ABOUT battlefield objectives and especially keeps and turn it into "fight at hotspot x to get your reward". And there is no winner anymore, its just mindles fighting without any sense...

add wintergrasp buff from world of warcraft :P

other way of fixing it maybe give only 1 medal and add +1 for every 10 defenders in a keep idk.

Pretty much. The BOs and keeps should be more than arbitrary areas of the map at which you get superior rewards. They should have value. The problem is that they do have value, but the very foundation of that value (your realm association) can be changed at will, undermining the entire system. The losing faction doesn't have to get its **** together - it's much easier just to flip to the winning faction and reap the rewards.

would making it harder to level up a toon help, or is this a horrible idea? the 'your renown can't exceed your level' thing is what got me attached to my main and my faction I think, since I had to invest a lot more on her.. but the main source of xp for my guild was dungeons, so dunno if it'll be the same. the dehumanizing thing helped, but I like that I can chat with order now.. but then again, I already picked a side a long time ago, so /shrug

I doubt increasing the grind will be favoured too much by newer players. Besides, powerleveling will still be possible and you only need one character on both Order and Destruction to profit from this.

Ok what about this? As you rvr you char gathers up kills from killing or from your teammates killing. When you lock the zone by taking keeps these kills or points turn into medallions. If you don't lock you don't get ****... If you x realm you log in with no points...

Or make things cost a lot of medallions and give rewards for keep taking based on player ratio. Let's say your side has 10 players and enemy has 2... you only get a fifth of original reward....

original game had a "rally call". may be it worth to use it somehow to gather defenders in empty keep or contested zone?

That's not a bad idea, if the stored kills for all players reset when a zone is locked.
