I just dont get why this combining of renown crit is done. What is the purpose, the goal? I dont see none beside may be slight buff to hybrid specs.
You all fear shammy and am but most benefit from that combine crit will got rp/zealot and if their dps spec become potent that will be significant buff but that is still mainly on 1v1 level of play

Combining dps/heal crit is silly on many levels, may it never happen.
As for ranged/melee crit it makes some sense for ASW which hardly anyone plays these days, not sure who else will benefit that much.

Ok looking at stats a bit.
Since it is possible to get 800 toughness on any toons, 800 init should be possible as well. Lets take a healer with 800 init and 800 will, and maxed renown parry and dodge/disr. Total -40% to be crit (before base chance to be crit, but also not including FS or any -% to be crit on equip), 42% parry/dodge/disr. And that is before htl buffs, or say ib 20% parry buff that it can give to anyone.
As a side bonus, with 800 init all WHs/WEs will become perma visible.
Might get interesting.

the devs ability to ignore all sensible suggestions for years while at the same time coming up with **** nobody asked for is something else. theres 200 people online right now. what other numbers you need to understand these changes are not the way to go? i dont care its 9:00am. its still saturday and this game is good enough at its core to have 1k online at all times. just stop freaking killing it.

What's the Opportunity crit stat tied to?
If it's Critical Hit, then according to my testing on previous versions that would also increase Heal Crit chance.
My hybrid AM used to run minimum 29% heal crit and 40-50% magic crit.

Combining heal/dmg crit into one stat would make Shamans even more overpowered than they already are.

Melee Crit. And yes Critical Hit like Onslaught We/Wh/Bw/Sorc crit proc increases all crit. That is why 5% Melee crit Lini will stack with the 9% Crit from onslaught proc. Sorc/Bw get this general crit so they have 35% Heal crit with full mechanic, and Absorb Vitality used to crit heal in Aor. This is why when Lotd talismans in Aor were very Op you could see 15% all crit talisman + 8% heal/melee/magic/ranged crit talisman giving you 23% Crit in 1 2h=)

AM and Shaman already got the 10% crit tactic wich is working for both heal and damage hits, really no need to blend the two crit from renown into one.
It makes sense for SH and SW because both roles are tied, and it's part of their mechanics with same purpose (doing DPS), and the biggest gripe here is the current inability to spec Crit from renown, since renown ranged crit is not converted to melee crit and vice-versa.
The downside here is to make Bullseye a mandatory tactic to get decent amount of crit, with double malus (taking a tactic slot AND 10% added ctbc), as soon you want to play melee mode.
Now it will (maybe) free a tactic slot to specialize even more, but it will need bigger renown investment into crit, with less into defensive stats wich in turn will make the classes even more glasscannon.
And SW especially doesnt need to be made more glasscannon than it is now.
The biggest issue here will be the absolute massacre of melee spec SH and SW, wich will lose about 20% parry from the silly Stat change, with their magnificent 240 initiative (7% parry), before was 700-800 WS (21-24% parry).
And the same for pretty much all melee characters, especially KotBS, Slayer, Choppa...
