One of the best feedback posts in a long time. Thanks for your work, Cyun!
I think aura and proc abilities should be changed from 'cast once - forget for good' to 'situationally press this button for a really short damage buff, but lose some damage in the long run.' Let me elaborate on how I see a good rework.
Proc and aura damage buffs are now always active skills. They give some small (around 50 on average) damage buff to every attack that you or your team makes. Those skills can be pressed for a 4-7 second 'steroid' buff that drastically increases damage proc (to 300 or even more). After the 'steroid' buff expiration, you and your team gain fatigue from that buff. That means, for, let's say, 30 seconds, you cannot deal any bonus damage from this aura or aura ability.
While I agree with internal proc CD nerf, 'steroid' phase may remove internal CD on procs(or just make it like it is right now). This would give us some control over damage spikes and increase skill ceiling while playing proc classes. Would be great to use those abilities without GCD.
Thanks for reading <3

Re: Tone down the Meta Procs
Let me correct several posters here, procs ain't unmitigable, resists or armor mitigate them very fine. Only thing which they ignore is toughness, which a lot of nontanks barely have anyway- whatever its CoC or for that matter Witchbrew, resists alone allow to mitigate up to 40% of their dmg.

Re: Tone down the Meta Procs
Except that devs will not remove that cursed shield because they are too deep with commitment for it. (You can see it as the first thing that got ported to the new ability system was the shield wp/dok) Also the shield dok is not healer, its DPS healer, or if one needs references to the other games you could say "paladin" a class that outputs less heal than traditional healer but is able to put pressure on other players. You need to do damage (you know a thing that damage dealers do) in order to heal (the thing that healers do) and then to throw into that mix you have to be tanky enough soo you dont get killed in 1 kd rotation. Hence why devs went lazy route (in my opinion) of balance and gave them shields with 8% reduction of the enemy avoidances, In my opinion all they had to do was to make dps chalices into "shield gear" but whatever.akisnaakkeli wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 10:57 am
Goddamn shield dok.. Besides Shield Dok is Healer Not dmg dealer. That gamebreaking sdok/swp shouldnt exist. Remove the shields and work the "shield only" skills to 2h/dual wield.

Re: Tone down the Meta Procs
Actually experimented a bit with a dok with a dps chalice lately, you give up on dw/snb only abilities but gain constant SE regen which change a lot of things- like much better ability to deal with kiters. Problem is dmg- you need str, and you can get a decent toughness or a decent ws, but not both. With chalice you can use spirit dmg setup using Rend + Consume Essence as spammers, but they do pretty low dmg especially that dok doesn't has a resists debuff.
What really killed chalice dps dok though was the change to make Khaine's Imbuement Torture only, nicely enough to nerf snb dok dmg.

Re: Tone down the Meta Procs
it still feels horrible to die to them as a tank. there have been a number of times i've been running to a siege and been jumped by a small group who otherwise wouldn't have killed me (or I could've at least survived long enough for someone to show up) if it wasn't for prayer/rhuin. it's easily >50% of incoming damage in those situationsZxul wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 4:18 pm Let me correct several posters here, procs ain't unmitigable, resists or armor mitigate them very fine. Re: Tone down the Meta Procs
Probably a good moment to mention that resist lini was buffed some time ago, and now buffs resists by 360, or 360 /16.8= 21.5 % extra mitigation which stacks with whatever else you got from equip. Doesn't stacks with chosen's aura as far as I'm aware, but very nice for bg/bo.tazdingo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 5:45 pmit still feels horrible to die to them as a tank. there have been a number of times i've been running to a siege and been jumped by a small group who otherwise wouldn't have killed me (or I could've at least survived long enough for someone to show up) if it wasn't for prayer/rhuin. it's easily >50% of incoming damage in those situationsZxul wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 4:18 pm Let me correct several posters here, procs ain't unmitigable, resists or armor mitigate them very fine. Re: Tone down the Meta Procs
I think, tactics that increase % procs and damage should not affect groupmates like before the ability rework. And same for % increase damage (from groupmate's gear/tactics ect).
Like this way, the meta proc will be cancel without nerfing dps dok/wp and bw/sorc capacity to deal.

Re: Tone down the Meta Procs
Just make procs scale with main stat, crit, and be affected by toughness.

Re: Tone down the Meta Procs
Are you sure you want to be hit by procs from bw/sorc with capped mainstat, likely some magic power on top, and their mechanic combined with equipment insuring 70-80% crit chance and total +150% was it crit dmg?vanbuinen77 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 11:54 pm Just make procs scale with main stat, crit, and be affected by toughness.
