If making a name for yourself is not enough of a carrot, if your ego does not drive to make a name for yourself ... then all the carrots in the world will not matter.

...okay, except since it's a player-made tourney and we can easily track kills made, we could all just agree "when you participate in this bracket, only kills matter, not the objective, so if you play the objective in this specific instance, you lose."
It looks like you're the one who doesn't get ir, robin.
@Morrdread, clearly other people disagree and since the carrots in question have no in-game effect besides bragging rights/looking cool, why do you even **** care?

No. I get what he wants. But there is no way to enforce it. Without recoding the rules for the scenario to be the objective. Who deterime if its an official ladder match? What prevents the losing team to say after the game is over: We didn't think it was an official match and didn't have the right gear etz. Its alot easier to do these things in open world were you can actually have a referee and propper monitization.GodlessCrom wrote:...okay, except since it's a player-made tourney and we can easily track kills made, we could all just agree "when you participate in this bracket, only kills matter, not the objective, so if you play the objective in this specific instance, you lose."

It's pretty insulting that you'd think most 6v6 groups are like that, when nearly all of them are actually decent and honest people who will stand by a loss and take it like men.roadkillrobin wrote:No. I get what he wants. We can have it so that each captain has to stream their match, or that each member in the team must take a screenshot. Simple, really, and only takes maturity from the groups' part in order for it to work.
Also - it's pretty weird how you take such a keen interest in this and ensuring it isn't given much light of day, when you don't partake in it.

Its not about you and me. Its about the fact that other part of the game you need to play by the rules to get rewards from it and it shouldn't be different for the 6v6 community. I find the new RvR system pretty boring tbh. But im still following the rules to get the rewards from it. Theres no way around it as its coded like that. And Im not trying to make up house rules that I asume everyone in the RVR lake is supose to follow to make it more intreasting for me. And I don't ask for rewards for playing acording to those house rules either.

If all the people interested agree on the rules, who cares? The rewards are purely cosmetic, so no impct on you. You're complaining about something you dont do, so it doesnt impact you, for rewards that don't affect you. Why bother? Let 6v6 people do their thing. It would benefit the server a lot more than Phalanx zerging zones to death does.

Re: Caledor Woods/Eternal Citadel Proposal
I think you're over stressing on something that's very easy to fix, just have the captains of the team PM 1 guy and he'll be the judge before the match starts, & after the match one of the captains (or both) send screenshots to verify the fight and that's done...roadkillrobin wrote:No. I get what he wants. Currently, fair small scale fights (such as 6v6) do not work in open with viewers because of the moral regeneration system we've in place, which will impact how fast one or another gain moral depending on enemies around or nearby... and since you cannot control pugs from not getting close to watch, it won't work.

Re: Caledor Woods/Eternal Citadel Proposal
I keep thinking about responding to this thread, but there's so much salt everywhere it's hard to make out the words people are even posting...
Something interesting came up though, seeing as we have a couple dedicated 6v6 scenarios, I don't see why we couldn't change the rule sets on them to fit the intended needs. Don't want to flag in CW? We can remove that, not a big deal.
If you want a pure brawl mode, removing all the points and granting 5pt per kill is relatively simple to do. I bet we could probably code that over the top of other scenarios and you could have your 6v6 rotate anywhere, but with totally non-functional objectives and a standard 5pt kill system.
