Feedback on the Chosen

Hello all!

Just wanted to post a quick Question and Feedback to the Chaos Chosen. I've been looking up the forums to find anything on the Chosen Auras. I did find alot like "Chosen / Kotbs are too strong, nerf pls", due to their Auras stacking.

As far as I remembered on live servers the Auras would wear off after about 12 seconds, with a 6s cooldown, so it was basically just Auraswapping for the time being.

So my Question is, were the Auras nerfed to the point where it's fair to play a Chosen in RvR or are they unchanged, and basically I can stack all my Auras to complet Aura-domination?

Other Feedback so far is that the Great-Axe Taunt Handwave glitchy animation is still there. And I'm probably nitpicking here, and it's probably just me, but I'm still irked by the Chaos Chosens shield size. I know it's only something cosmetical, but it actually killed the class a bit for me. Chosens used to wear big sturdy shields, now it's just some tiny little things hanging at their arms. I'm still searching for an old Chosen pic where you can see the normal shield size until Mythic changed it. I will post and update if I find anything. I never got to T4 Armor sets and Shield on Live because my Chosen died during a Server Merge (had 2 40 Order chars so the 30 Chosen had to go :( ) Did reroll a Chosen but only made it to 30 again and didn't play until the servers were shut down. The main reason to drop the char was the shield size though, as I was setting up a Tabletop Army of Chosen Warriors with nice, big shields.

Still wanted to say thank you for having the servers up and running and the great work with so many players in RvR.

Cheers
J

They changed auras so you don't have to twist, pick 3 auras and they will stay on till you switch one off. The Great-axe graphics glitch is still there, and shields are the same as they are on live, Chosen shields match the aesthetic of the Warriors of Chaos shields on the table top with more busy shields coming later. Buffs generally do not stack, but you take the better of the two.

Alright that was fast. Thanks for your reply.

The Shield size just bothered me, because on live, when the game was released they used to be bigger, then at some point, the basic size was changed by Mythic. 99/100 people wouldn't realise so I thought I bring it up to find someone else who might've noticed. I'll check on some of the more recent higher tier shields when I bring my Chosen up to 32/40.

Don't think there is anything wrong with the Chosen imho, great class to play and the abilities seem to work as they should. Fine work by the devs.

Theres nothing wrong with chosen, just some mad bads complaing about crippling strikes being op without realizing that its a curse and therefore clenseable

the problem people have with kotbs is the 20% group crit and how you can soft cap str and stuff even when going full defensive due to runefang and emperors champion stacking

Auras are still mad OP to the point where every serious group needs to have a kotbs/chosen.

I don't understand why for instance BG has a skill that debuffs toughness on a single target by ~100 that costs resource to use, but the chosen get to debuff everyone by pretty much the same amount with 100% uptime in an AoE while simultaneously buffing our group by the same amount. Tons of other examples where auras just make tons of **** on other tanks pointless.

On top of auras your have potions as well, which also don't stack with anything.

I wish Auras and potions where nerfed but then made to stack with everything as their own seperate class of buffs/debuffs. Would solve a lot of problems with tanks like SM/BO, their blade enchants would stop being "lol nice ini debuff :^)"

about chosen shields size is something that bothered me too until they relased rr 81+ weapons which gave you some pretty big shields, also the rr 29 and the sovereign ( shield of reckoning or something like that) are anyway fine as size for me.

Aura strength aside, it's just bad game design to have a mechanic where the only counterplay is, "well, just have one of your own, and have him stand there." It's lazy, and it puts a hard requirement on team composition.

CS being cleansable means the WP will remove it instead of, say, an incoming heal debuff or a Word of Pain (in other words it covers other debuffs). And it can be reapplied immediately. Being cleansable actually makes it stronger. But this is not a CS thread so...

The problem i personally have with the KotBS is that he can buff crit by 20% while being pretty much on /follow, making the class really boring imho (compared to IB or BO, at least). I wish EA/DT worked similarly to CS (proc when the KotBS hits or crits or something like that) to make it feel more active. Seriously, atm all you need to get that 20% crit buff is to turn on an Aura and guard someone.

As for Auras, i miss the old system. It let you use any aura you wanted immediately instead of deactivating one, wait 5 secs, activate another one.

Also, the animations :)

that most of em don't cover you enough when hold the line, result to make you feel with a crap shield; if you compare the rr 100 shield vs devouring wall ( dark valley shield) the difference is a lot.
