Changes and testing
Since you guys are starting to make changes, is it possible for you to have a group of core testers that can use accounts with leveled heroes with gear to test changes? For instance right now with the WP buff, if you could have a group of core testers playing melee WP and leaving back feedback. This is just an example but I hope you get the idea. I think it's better than just throwing out changes and seeing what happens. This way you get tester and maybe public point of view if they decide to leave feedback directly on the changes. I would think you guys can make such accounts, right?

Re: Changes and testing
I think that if you play max level wp you will notice how the implemented changes affect you and you are free to share your opinion. If you have never played wp and suddenly will receive a max level toon I don't see how that will be helpful for testing purposes.
Edit. Even in case of games like WoW or SWToR or LotRO or any other happens frequently that even thought there is testing and PTR implemented changes after some time get reverted anyways, so I guess you might as well implement them directly and see how it goes.

Re: Changes and testing
imo the server is in alpha stage for a reason. We are essentially all testers

Re: Changes and testing
We have a group of core testers. I don't see us giving us out lvled toons. Also I think we are getting enough feedback from the community.
Pretty much always afk or tabbed out.

Hello,
first of all I would like to quote "Shadowgurke":
"the server is in alpha stage for a reason. We are essentially all testers"
And we have a team of testers. Who test changes / give their feedback and help us with their knowledge.
Greetings

Re: Changes and testing
Plenty of wp's rolling melee in t1 and t2, we will have enough testers soon enough, and with every change i think we will see this similar fotm/reroll type effect

Re: Changes and testing
Even if this was T4 I doubt many people would be testing the change to WP. Very few play melee WP. We are essencially just changing things and just seeing how it does. That's OK but we could have core testers doing more. People who would look at things different and looking the specific changes.

Re: Changes and testing
I don't see that being efficient at all though. You'd have people rerolling when the change is announced then level up to t4 to try to compete? That would take a while.TenTonHammer wrote:Plenty of wp's rolling melee in t1 and t2, we will have enough testers soon enough, and with every change i think we will see this similar fotm/reroll type effect

Re: Changes and testing
For changes like this we need groups of the best players playing against each other to analyse the impact of the change, not the core testers.

Re: Changes and testing
Isn't the term best subjective with people and groups having diffrent playstyles and what not?
While I get that we want to balance for small scale but wouldn't it be better to have a large number of players playing something so that you get multiple sources of feedback?
Also how can you test changes like the viability of certian play styles like 2h blackguard when they have not gotten all their abilites and what not yet
