Re: war crest
We have thought about it, and we have generally decided that it would be a bad idea. To reiterate...
1. If you can earn WAR crests faster by doing one activity instead of another, players will abandon the slower activity. The acquisition rate between all activities must be equal, and I doubt anyone will be able to say exactly how many scenarios are worth a single keep siege.
2. WAR Crests were only necessary after introducing OP weapons to scenarios, and players rebelled at having to do an activity they disliked in order to remain competitive. In other words, they were a reaction to two bad design decisions.

The problem is, I am not sure acquisition rates between all activities are equal now.Genisaurus wrote:We have thought about it, and we have generally decided that it would be a bad idea. To reiterate...

For example, as a healer I can still get far more T3 medallions grinding scenarios via the 2 150 kill quests than I can ever hope to get in open RvR. Work my ass off keeping the entire warband healed for hours on end only to not get any medallions because I happen to be in a group not getting many killing blows. I think in my last 10 hours of open RvR, I have had maybe 2 of them actually drop and roll to me. It is kind of ludicrous.

Re: war crest
I'd say that would be problem with your group, not the system. Getting Medallions in ORvR isn't hard.covenn wrote: The problem is, I am not sure acquisition rates between all activities are equal now.

Re: war crest
Of course it is, you aren't stating anything differently than I did. You are right, medallions are easy to come by if you are in a group generating killing blows. That kind of throws getting medallions out the window if you are in an open war band though.Razid1987 wrote:I'd say that would be problem with your group, not the system. Re: war crest
Not really. If I win a scenario I am guaranteed to get a minimum amount of emblems. If I take a keep, or even a dozen, I can still end up with exactly 0 medallions for my effort and time despite 'winning' the keep. From what I can tell, contribution is completely random anyways, so even if you put forth the extra time and effort to ensure victory, it means exactly nothing.Torquemadra wrote: The main source of them via Orvr should now not be drops but keep takes, in the same way emblems are via scenario scores not drops. Its also far easier to fill out the 150 kills on keep attacks/defences than scenarios as well.
edit: fwiw as an example, i have gotten a grand total of 1 white bag from all the keeps takes I have done.
...and no, from my perspective, completing the 150 kill quests is easier in scenarios.

Re: war crest
My opinion ,people shuold get amors/weaps from killing players in sc not runing aruond BOs,Atm all about emblems/medalions,what if reduce RP gain ,doesn't matter how many you hawe war crest, without RR can't use armors/weaps.And just need fix rp gain.

Re: war crest
We are aware that the rewards for keep takes are not quite where we want them to be. The current RvR and reward system is a holdover from when we were in T2, and the devs threw their hands up in frustration at players constantly evading fights to PvE empty zones. Likewise, the ability to get medallions (through kill quests) in scenarios is a holdover from a time when we couldn't restrict quest objectives to certain zones. We recently gained the ability to do just that, so the kill quests will also be getting a rework with the launch of T4.covenn wrote:Not really. We will be addressing the RvR system and those rewards in the near future - it will be the next major focus for us after launching T4. A shared currency is not a valid solution to the problems and quirks in the existing system.
Re: war crest
Thanks for the feedback. I look forward to those changes in the future.
