You can put an armor tali in your shield if you wish.

Block is already incredibly powerful. And shields are only useful from the front, so I can see from a lot of perspectives that this is a no-go.

your chest gear have armor and you can put an armpr talisman in it...
i just tought it would just give more tankiness and open the road to other spec , for exemple , not using the armor tactics , and using the slot for something else (another tactics)

Shielded tanks don't need to become more tanky. It might feel like you get melted, but we are in t3 gear at 35/40. My knight is excessively tanky. Giving him more free armor is not needed in any way.

I meant, that if you feel you need more armor, you can use tali's. The shield has a very specific purpose, in that it allows you to block attacks from the front. A dual handed weapon allows you to make extra attacks and adds to parry. A tome/chalice adds regen of your carrer resource. The engi/SH/SW extra weapon is so they can switch between melee and ranged.

Every off hand item gives its own inherent benefits. I don't think giving armor to one would be fair in any way, nor does it particularly make sense. The Shield already gives you an incredible benefit in Blocking.
Edit: Make sense in that, why would a shield add to your armor while getting attacked from the rear?

The first exemple it came to my mind is wow, there shield give armor but they dont give block rating.
Considering in war is easier than other game stack avoidance there is not need to such a thing.
Tank have alredy the best armor in game, there isn't offensive classes (real offensive classes) with heavey armor/plate like wow or near that armor value.
So it just work fine this way.
