Quality of life change for engi / magus

This is a suggestion that pops up in every engi / magus balance thread. It has been around forever, and I think it is about time that there was a bit more open discussion about it.

At it's heart it is a quality of life change.

For those that do not play magus and engi, turrets / daemons make up the core part of the mechanic, more than just being pets, they provide a damage buff when the player stands close. There are also many tactics that provide additional buffs for staying near.

Turrets / daemons have a 2s cast time, and are immobile. To keep them in range for the buffs you have to constantly respawn them as you move. Many if not most engi's and magus's use the well-oiled machine, and chaotic attunement tactics to make their turrets / daemons instant.

The suggestion is to make these tactics a core part of the mechanic. I.E. turrets / daemons are instant abilities.

This change would make the mechanic much more easily manageable at lower levels, and free up a vital tactic slot at higher levels opening up new build opportunities.

It is not a one stop fix. It won't make engi's / magus's the new top premade career, but it does provide a nice quality of life improvement, that is noticeable to anyone who has played these careers.

I've sugested this once once before but ill post it again. Make the Deamons/Turrets able to follow the caster like a Squig/Lion does on passive but able to attack as normal Its all ranged abillities anyway. (Add wheels to turret graphics maybe) And change the abillties Resummon/Redeploy to root the pet to its current location so you can do all the KD shenanegans. And obviusly change the names of the abillities to something like Deamonic Circle and Dissmount or someyhing

That is a massive change. You are taking about making client changes to graphic files, which to my understanding is just not possible at the moment.

if mobility is important why not give them a similar tactic to white lion's "Loner" - You will deal 25% more damage when your War Lion is not called forth.
Or perhaps a tactic that lets the dmg bonus of the turrets build up on the player as long as they stand still if you want to keep that "hold in place" play style.
would need to be balanced for the engineer and magus but it let them mix it up in their play style. Also would let people who aren't so keen on pets enjoy the classes.

Adding the wheels isn't nesescary. I don't really know what the limits of changes regarding abillies. Changing names and tooltip texts are one of em i think. Im talking about this from a ballance perspective and if they can't change some stuff due to the lack of a client patcher then fine. But its a bit silly that due to technical limitations shouldn't be able to sugest things that might actually be good for the game.

Well there is a difference between a quality of life tweak, and a major redesign.

Then why not just give them the ability to cast summon while moving? . .keeps the 2 second cast time mechanic, and gives players their mobility. Though i would be happy with just instant cast timers but it dose make a huge difference, that is why everyone uses the tactics. or maybe the solution is something like removing the cool down on redeploy.

If you arn't to Keen on pets Engie/Magus are defintly not the class for you as they are completly designed around that.

I would say neigh to modifying anything on the magus, pet related especially as it is key part of playing the class
when to deploy pet for max damage right area at the right time. Though i kick myself a few times when i failed to
do this or "forget" to summon my pet all together on quite a few occasions in heat of battle  . I think having
the pet spawn instantly for both magus and (turret) for engineer would take the fun out of playing these classes
in some way maybe not right away, but over time. I think the tactic should be quite sufficient for this but
what do i know..Im a loony old Magus.

i think its enough just they have skill to replace turret/pet. summon it out of fight, and then replace it.
and what about other summons of engi? keg and rod. what with them? instant too?
