Starter Crafting Material

Is there any thought on adjusting the level 1 crafting material "Silent Essence" to be more in line with the prices of the other level 1 talisman making materials? Right now "Silent Essence" costs 2 silver while the other like materials cost 2 copper and 20 copper. With the price set as it is a person that chooses the scavenging gathering profession must wait until higher ranks when they have the funds to support buying the material to begin crafting or make another character just salvage items to obtain the "Silent Essence". I know its not a pressing issue what so ever but there it is if you want to have a look at it.

Thank you for your time and keep up the good work.

A scavenger still has the benefit of not having to sacrifice their gear to get talisman fragments. The Shattered Figurine only yields essence and dust (you can use that to save money if you have a salvager, by the way, since they only cost 50b, and there's about 50% chance for the essence). If you start with a salvager instead of a scavenger, you will have to loot gear and then destroy it to get fragments. Gear a scavenger can vendor for cash, or at least use. A scavenger can achieve the same by just killing some random equal-rank mob - the fragment drop chance is far higher than the green+ loot drop chance, not to mention you always get something from scavenging.
So while it may seem that the 2s price of the Silent Essence puts scavengers at a disadvantage, the actual case is that due to how scavenging and salvaging works, the scavenger is still at a huge advantage when starting out. It's why that is recommended to new players interested in crafting.

You should make a dps dok/wp for scavenging or a mara. With dok/mara you kill and loot gear and send that gear to your salvager. My dok/wp is talis/scaveng, mara/slayer butcher, rp/zealot cult/apo and shaman/am salvaging.
