Would it be possible to run a couple days with loot and loot rolls disabled in RVR, just for testing what effect it has on performance? I highly suspect that loot rolls are causing lagspikes as more and more currency is added the worse it seems to get.
Could maybe compensate later with a double drop weekend or something.
Lootfree RVR.

Re: Lootfree RVR.
Its more of a performance test to increase the enjoyment of playing. The rewards isn't worth the lag if it is caused by the rewards tbh. And if the rewards are causing the lag the loot mechanic can be tweaked to avoid it.

Performance issues is coming from xp guild.
Guilds lvl 18 and 19 highly suffers this problem. It was a pain with OR when we started.
But u still have this problem with lvl20 guilds.

+1 to disable loots , bags , rewards , maybe some extra % to renown gains for 1-3 days
Re: Lootfree RVR.
We've discussed this on comms numerous times and there is definite correlation between loot rolls and lag. There are a few other factors, like large amounts of damage being piled onto tightly packed players, but that is the fun of the game; and, what Robin says is right - the loot isn't worth the lag, since it is slowly ruining the gameplay of the more enjoyable parts.roadkillrobin wrote:Would it be possible to run a couple days with loot and loot rolls disabled in RVR, just for testing what effect it has on performance? Worth a try imo. Turn off random loot like armour/weapons, and cash drops, but medallions as a last resort. Get rid of the bits that can be made up elsewhere like with the RVR quest givers cash amounts, and increase pve drop rates for those wanting to farm green items for salvaging etc

How you gonna test performance if no one is gonna play RvR without the rewards lol?

I don't want to draw the Alpha card and we're all testers...
But is some green loot worth it? is that bit of coin for a kill worth it?
And by It, I mean the destructive and intrusive lag situations that can stump and entire warband for 3-5 seconds on commencement of combat, during combat, and with morale dumps.
And upping the gold from a rvr kill quest would be a measurable way to mitigate the losses thru no drops.
