You make this game more realistic than it was, like for the Door, you can't use the front door keep if it is attacked, this is a nice change but about Oil damage ?
Why they don't deal damage for all players who are under ? Why a group of players can't use the Oil of the enemy keep if they are able to hold the "Oil place" ?
Imagine, Outer door is down,we are on the Inner door BUT we are pushed and wipe is going on... but we hold the Outer wall and the Tower with the Oil to defend our first conquest... Why not ? That will make the keep attack more fun/strategic and not depending about a simple push of a blob to wipe players attackers.
One other thing, you are on the Lord keep and you hold the inner place but attackers are back and push as a big blob + realm mates coming from an other zone just locked, you have the place but you can't use the Oil ??? Why not ?
Put one more Battle Objectif on Oil spot, Realm who caped it can use the Oil.
What could be the consequence to put the Oil spot usable by all ?
I can understand that can be too much change with all the changes already done, or it's just a bad idea.

Re: Oil don't burn me
I'm pretty sure they did this and adjusted spawn because people were exploiting the heck out of it. This idea would make it so BOTH sides could exploit it at the same time.....flintboth wrote:You make this game more realistic than it was, like for the Door, you can't use the front door keep if it is attacked, this is a nice change but about Oil damage ?

Re: Oil don't burn me
If I were to make one change to oil, I'd make oil damage all players, both enemy and friendly. In this way you could not have some uber tanky-tank sitting out in front of the door with 4 healers in party AoE healing him while he stands under boiling oil and face tanks an entire warband because mdps can't attack him.
Re: Oil don't burn me
Not sure I agree. Personally I'd like to see oil damage tanks to the degree where it would take highly effective healers to keep them up, and if not, they die. Right now it seems like you can just throw a hot on them and a big heal every once and a while and they'll be fine. The keep defense at the door is one of the few places I think the defenders should be able to put up a fight. Once the door is down, I think the Lord should be relatively quick to kill (say 5min given population), so the main defense should occur while the door is up. My opinion is meh thoughLuuca wrote:If I were to make one change to oil, I'd make oil damage all players, both enemy and friendly. I think this is a problem of the aoe healing going though obstacles /line of sight.Luuca wrote:If I were to make one change to oil, I'd make oil damage all players, both enemy and friendly. Allowing oil to damage both sides would unleash so much greifing and abuse that the forum probably would be broken by the whine threads.
