Siege follow distance

Would it be possible to reduce the distance required for siege objects such as the ram or weapons to follow the player, as the distance it is currently set at makes it difficult to position siege correctly. And during high conflict zones where the lag is palpable in the air this can cause further issues.

For example if you try and place the ram after a faulty setup, you have to move quite a way back away from the keep, then turn and make a break for the door, something that is typically made difficult by the huge amount of AOE pouring over the keep walls which can make it rather infuriating when you and your horse are pressed up right against the door but the ram is annoyingly still sat a few feet behind you and unable to be setup to hit the door.

It at times can also make it difficult to place siege such as cannons and artillery on the keep, whether that be the random decorative scales of the DE Keeps, or miscellaneous brickabrac of the Ork keeps that block line of sight and make it more difficult than necessary to snipe at the opposing sides siege engines.

It's not super easy to get perfect placement but I for one don't mind that it takes a little bit of finesse in order to place a siege engine where you want it.

Well you've got to consider the difference between perfect and functional. A ram has to go in one place, and if it takes abnormal movement to put the ram in a position where it functions as a ram, then we've got an issue. It shouldn't be that hard to put a ram in front of a keep! (I mean fire storms, destro / order defenders aside)

I do agree that the snap-to distance from the doors to the ram could be increased in order to reduce the frustrations caused by a ram being halted mere feet from the door.

That too would work but I'm not sure which would be easier to implement.

With the recent change to being able to go through the keep door while over %50 it seems the devs really wanna encourage melee players attacking the ram, which I'm a fan of, gives certain classes that aren't all that useful during siege another way to participate, but also means that when oil goes up the attackers will want to get the ram out of there ASAP since they won't be able to defend it very well. Trying to constantly move the ram on and off each time oil goes up while being bombarded by aoe and projectiles is a huge pain in the ass. Would be awesome if there was some way for the attackers to deal with it, maybe make one of those siege only abilities that almost no one uses (do they even work?) into something like "For the next 10 seconds you can not be dismounted due to attacks while towing a siege weapon" with a long CD.

Well we did used to have shield from Oil on us tanks for that kind of event but the ability is disabled at the moment, not sure if there is intent to bring it back in or not but it would be useful!
